After the NBA trade deadline had passed, it seems some players in the league are sharing their thoughts on “surviving” the deadline. One of those players being the Golden State Warriors small forward, Kelly Oubre Jr.

Oubre Jr. seems relieved to be in Golden State for now, and shares that he would like to remain on this team for the long run, per Anthony Slater. He's in a good situation right now, as he's in the starting rotation for the Warriors, however, it'll be interesting to see how the Warriors view Oubre Jr., as he could be moved to a different organization next year.

Oubre Jr. is focused on this season, as he doesn't necessarily share his opinion on what his career will look like next year. It might be in Golden State's best interest to keep him on the roster, as he's a decent starter in the league that has the potential to improve once Klay Thompson returns. Oubre Jr. is averaging 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists.

The Golden State Warriors as a franchise are in an odd position. Oubre Jr. can be a contributor, however, next offseason this front office will be looking to improve. He's in the middle of the pack in terms of production, which would make him a strong bench player, however, it seems Oubre Jr. is focused on remaining as a starter.

It'll be an interesting situation to watch, as the Warriors front office will make decisions they feel is best for the team. They'll either move on from Oubre Jr. or attempt to bring him off the bench. Based on Oubre's words, the front office choosing the latter could cause an issue within the locker room.

For now, Kelly Oubre Jr. is relieved to be on the team, but his future with the organization is murky if he isn't willing to come off the bench next year.
