SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Golden State Warriors have struggled in recent weeks to keep key players on the floor. Going into Thursday's matchup against the Sacramento Kings, they were already without superstar Stephen Curry due to his tailbone injury. At shootaround, they discovered they would be without another key starter in Draymond Green, who Steve Kerr said was “not feeling well.”

Since there were multiple players potentially out due to sickness, it was only natural for the mind to go straight to COVID-19. Kerr addressed what was really going on.

“No, they just weren't feeling well this morning, and Draymond did not come to shootaround and just is not feeling well at all right now,” said Kerr.

In fact, Kerr gave an update on if the Warriors planned on joining the recent trend of NBA teams finally getting their COVID-19 vaccinations.

“Yeah, we went yesterday to Kaiser, right around the corner from Chase, and I believe about 12 of us got vaccinated, players and coaches, and so I was very happy to receive mine,” Kerr told the media.

Kerr also mentioned he didn't know if Green's sickness had anything to do with being vaccinated.

Being without Curry is already a challenging task, and losing Green was another massive loss for a team fighting for a spot in this year's postseason. The Warriors promptly got thumped in a 141-119 loss, dropping them under .500 on the season to 22-23. Golden State has lost three games in a row and is now just two games ahead of Sacramento for that final spot in the play-in tournament.
