2011 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 DOUBLE CAB

This Land Rover Defender 110 Double Cab is a smart example of the iconic 4x4, presented in a classic utility specification and an appealing factory colour. Under the bonnet is the 2.2-litre DT224 engine producing 120bhp, with permanent four-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer indicates 42,036 miles from new.

First registered in December 2011, this is a 2012 model year vehicle that benefits from the more refined and tractable 2.2-litre engine. Finished in Tamar Blue with a sand-coloured fabric soft top over the load bay, it was also specified with the Convenience Pack of electric front windows and central locking. It has just two owners from new, though only one keeper on the V5C as the current collector owner has not registered the car in his name.

The bodywork of this Defender remains in very good order, with no accident damage, and with factory shut lines and panel gaps throughout. Its Tamar Blue paint finish is all original, and while there are some small stone chips and light scratches in a few places, it still presents very well indeed.

Its load bay is scuffed and scratched, and has evidently been used as intended, so it could be smartened up with some fresh paint, or simply protected with a heavy-duty bed liner. The bumpers and body trims are in good order, and the soft top is undamaged and fits snugly over the frame. The car rides on 16-inch steel wheels finished in white, which are in great shape.

In the cabin, the durable grey cloth and vinyl upholstery is in superb condition, with no rips or tears, and minimal signs of use. Black rubber floor mats are fitted in the front and rear, protecting the floors, and there are only a few small marks on the interior plastics. A Sony head unit is installed, featuring radio, CD player and MP3 playback. The seller is not aware of any electrical faults, and there are no warning lights on the dashboard.

The Defender’s last scheduled maintenance was within the last 500 miles, which consisted of a basic annual service. Its most recent MOT test was on 6 February 2020 at 41,663 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. The wheels are shod in Michelin Latitude Cross tyres, which are date-coded to 2013 and remain in good condition with plenty of tread.

This Land Rover Defender 110 Double Cab is an excellent utility vehicle, capable of turning its hand to longer-distance expeditions, or simply to be used as an immensely capable everyday workhorse. A practical and reliable modern classic, it is presented in very good condition throughout, and is ready to continue in regular service.
