PHOTOS: The 1990 Colorado Buffaloes national championship season

It has been just over 30 years since the 1990 Colorado Buffaloes beat Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl and secured the program’s lone national championship.

Head coach Bill McCartney led a star-studded team that included CU greats such as Eric Bieniemy, Darian Hagan, Kanavis McGhee, Alfred Williams and several other legends. Colorado finished the 1990 season 11-1-1 and was ranked No. 1 in the final AP Poll.

In these current trying times of Buffs football, we thought it would be nice to revisit that national championship-winning team. Take a look back at the greatest season in Colorado football history.
