1934 Plymouth PG Coupe

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Introduced in 1928, Plymouth was Chryslers lowest priced car, Dodge was next, then Desoto and Chrysler was top of the line. It was built as an inexpensive family vehicle to compete with Ford and Chevy.

The 1934 Plymouth was considered the best engineered car in its class, featuring independent front suspension, 4 wheel hydraulic brakes, a full pressured and filtered engine oil system, and rubber engine mounts (Floating Power) as standard equipment. On the front of the car was a sailing ship hood ornament for the first time. The radiator cap was moved to under the hood. Four models were available in 1934; The PE Deluxe with independent front suspension on 114 inch wheelbase. (2 door Convertible, 2 door Coupe, 2 and 4 door Sedan) The PF Standard with independent front suspension on 108 inch wheelbase. (2 door Coupe, 2 and 4 door Sedan) The PFXX Special with independent front suspension on 108 inch wheelbase. (2 door Coupe, 2 and 4 door Sedan and Town Sedan) The PG Standard with the old I beam front axle on 108 inch wheelbase. (2 door Coupe and 2 door Sedan) Engine; 77hp 201 cu in flathead 6 cyl.
