Summary[edit]

Description
English: 1972 AMC Javelin AMX, a muscle car made by American Motors Corporation (AMC). Originally a GT-type two seater from 1968 to 1970, the AMX name was used from 1971 to 1974 on the top high-performance model of AMC's Javelin "pony car". This car has the standard four-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter, as well as the "401 Go Package" that includes AMC's 401 cubic inch (6.6 L) 4-barrel V8 engine, "Rally-Pac" instruments, handling package, “Twin-Grip” differential, power disc brakes, E60x15 Goodyear Polyglas white-letter tires on AMC's 15x7-inch styled steel road wheels, and a blacked-out rear panel. This factory original AMX is finished in "Jetset Blue" (paint code C4), the standard T-stripe decal in gold on its fiberglass full-width cowl induction hood, and the interior has the standard black bucket seats upholstered in nylon corduroy. The front and rear spoilers were also standard on all AMXs. This car has power steering and optional factory air conditioning, as well as rubber-faced bumper guards. All AMXs came with a "Space-Saver" spare tire on a orange-painted 14-inch wheel for temporary use only. Picture taken at the car show on Saturday, July 25, 2015, during the American Motors Owners Association (AMO) annual convention that was held near Cleveland, Ohio.
