I asked Buz if he would consider re-issuing the 1948 Dodge, because I watched one sell for $850 on the bay, and he said he would consider it.

Well, he did, so if you are interested, give him a call.

Here is the post from April 2021 when we were discussing it.

Thanks for the heads-up. I got an email from Buz yesterday and ordered a green one. I want a red one too, but I can only get the one this week.

They look like they are amazing models, I can't wait for mine to arrive.

Ben, you seem to have influence with Buz regarding new models. First, the Buick Sedanette and now the Dodge. Are you trying to get some additional models added to his “to do” list?

I am very glad to be a good influence in my midlife, because God (and my mom) knows I wasn't in my teen years!

I think what influenced Buz to re-issue the Dodge, was when I told him that one of his Conquest Dodge coupes sold for $850.

He did tell me that he was thinking about re-issuing it, but he hadn't made the decision yet.....that ebay sale probably made up his mind.

After the '50 Buick was done, I only have a short list, but I would like to see the '41 De Soto done like the one in the Cool Hand Luke car wash scene (I have already mentioned to Buz that I think that one would do well sales wise, and he agreed) and this 1941 Mercury pictured....

@ben-lampson

I like that Mercury and would buy one. The same color would be great. I am glad you are in your “midlife”. We need more younger folks in this hobby.

One more comment/question. You mentioned one of these sold for $850.  I also remember someone saying a Conquest 1956 Mercury convertible selling for $700. Any idea who is paying these prices?

That was also me that reported that Conquest 1956 Mercury convertible ebay sale, and right after it sold, I called Buz to see if he had any left, and sure enough, he had one more! the same white over black one that sold on ebay for $700, so you know I bought the last one from Buz that day for the issue price of $250.

You ask who is paying these prices? I guess-timate there are hundreds of thousands of car model collectors on this planet, and with ebay so available around the world, there are wealthy collectors and dumb poor collectors (I am the latter) that consider these 1/43 white metal models to be like mini Picasso's and collectible right out of the gate, so you have a very large participating audience gunning for an item that they think of all day, and dream of all night.....I am only shocked that some of these models don't sell for more money.

@ben-lampson I would definitely buy the 1941 DeSoto coupe if Buz did it.

Here's one I remembered from an upper shelf: a '47 Chrysler from a Kager Transkit.  I thought it was a DeSoto but I had forgotten.  Sorry.

I have the Dodge coupe in gray and the convertible in Lullaby Blue top up. I would also be a player for the 41 DeSoto, 41 Mercury and the 47 Chrysler business coupe as shown by David H.

Bob, I don't think there is an American made car from 1941 that I don't like! 🤩

@jack-dodds  Here's a Chrysler New Yorker business coupe (modified with longer front clip) and a Desoto business coupe.  Both are Kager transkits on the Vitesse.

Buz has a few more reissues, including this '55 Stude (my pics, not his).
