Record year-to-year sales provided consumer confidence for Oldsmobile vehicles as they entered into the new 1936 production year. Only subtle visual differences were noted from the previous year, with the most notable being the rear-opening side doors leaving the former suicide doors a feature of the past. Additionally, improvements to shock absorber arms and adjustability of the front end made for a better ride with ground clearance, in conjunction with a strengthened X-frame chassis. Oldsmobile offered both the F-series with a 6-cylinder powerplant, and the upscale L-series with a Straight 8 for customer wanting a little more power. Oldsmobile advertised them as "The car that has everything!"

The steering is tight and concise without any play, the engine starts with ease and idles so quiet you can barely hear it running while outdoors, and it shifts through the synchromesh gears wonderfully smooth!
