Summary

Description

The Chrysler Corporation, founded in 1925, expanded in 1928, establishing Plymouth and DeSoto brands, they also acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers Motors and started selling vehicles under those names. The DeSoto was Chryslers mid priced car, the Desoto name was used from 1929-1960. It was named after the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto. The DeSoto logo featured a stylized image of the explorer who led the first European expedition deep into the territory of the modern-day United States In 1930, the 6 cylinder was available again, the Series CK, the CK Finer Six got slightly more horsepower. New for 1930 was an 8 cylinder model, the Series CF. They were available in base or Deluxe and in; 2 door Coupe; 2 passenger Business, or 4 passenger Deluxe. 4 door Sedan or Phaeton 2 door Roadster or Convertible
