Description
This is a 1994 Mercury Cougar XR-7 finished in Pumice Metallic (paint code #6612). This Cougar XR-7 is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Cougar is Mercury’s highest selling nameplate, spanning eight generations in a 34 year production run, throughout which the car was continually assembled in North American manufacturing plants. With just 62K-kms on the odometer, this Mercury coupe is currently registered in Alberta with an active and (Normal) status. Equipment highlights include powered seats and windows, air conditioning, cruise control, and courtesy lighting.
For US bidders, this Mercury Cougar is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
At the release of the seventh-gen Cougar in 1989, Mercury marketed it as their flagship coupe, and by 1990 it was their sole two-door offering.
This seventh generation Cougar features wraparound headlamps and taillamps, body coloured side mouldings, a long hood, and a short rear overhang. The chrome grille rises to the same height as the taillights, and the window trim is black. A Mercury emblem is placed on the C pillars.
This Cougar rides on silver 16” alloy wheels with four-wheel antilock disc brakes. The 1994 Mercury Cougar is 200 inches long, 73 inches wide, and 53 inches high, with a 113 wheelbase and a curb weight of 3,666 lbs.
Inside the cabin, seating for five is upholstered in leather with cloth inserts. The front sport seats are 6-way powered. This spacious interior is equipped with a centre console, cupholders, dual airbags, powered windows, doors, and locks, and a floor-mounted shifter.
A two-spoke tilting and leather wrapped steering wheel fronts analog instrumentation with a 7K rpm tachometer and a 190 km/hr speedometer, with a six-digit odometer. Steering is a rack and pinion design.
Further comfort and convenience features include an AM/FM stereo with cassette player, air conditioning, cruise control, and courtesy lighting.
The 1994 Mercury Cougar is powered by a 3.8L V6 rated at 140 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 4R70W 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. The Cougar XR7 trim was geared toward performance and handling; and built on Ford’s MN12 platform, with electronically adjustable four-wheel independent suspension and a wishbone design up front.
