rare color? 1995 GREY

I don't think this is the first one I've seen. Haven't got confirmation yet whether or not it's the original paint.

(Primer) Grey:

Does not look original.

No outline of where the front hood emblem used to be and if I remember right the 95 M/Y didn't have painted side moldings or color matched bumpers.
Looks aftermarket, but nice.

I've seen 2 Intrepids and a caravan that same exact color. Was always curious if it was a factory color.

Fleet car special color?

That is a common color...it's called Lapis blue that's what they all look like around here. No Neon was offered in primer grey from the factory, most however turned that color.

It was listed for sale July 1st, gonna look at it tomorrow (Sunday).

I called it Primer Grey. Owner assumes it's original color. Good eye on the hood emblem. Pentastar is still there on the fender.

Cracked windshield and seized rear brakes. Asking $500. Offered $250 which was accepted.

Not sure what the point of that was. Grey isn't on there and it says it's incomplete.

I don't know why I'm looking at another car. I guess it makes me feel good to buy something dirt cheap, fix what somebody else couldn't be bothered fixing, and then turn around and drive it on the highway.

I don't really have room for this car. And I don't really feel like messing with a cracked windshield. Brakes are no problem.

The consensus seems to be that it's not a factory colour. If it's aftermarket paint I may surely pass. Perhaps the tires alone are with $250 as long as I don't have to have it towed.

peanut nasty grey is not on there because it was not a factory color especially a 95

I found a 1995 sedan for sale in Chattanogga, TN. That is the same color as the one you posted... This one has the hood emblem and the emblems on the fender.

I really want to see something come of this. I truly think a fleet or company or government agency of some sort that used chryslers painted them all grey or ordered them in grey.

For years you were able to order "fleet colors" , for instance a large corporation or government agency were able to order a fleet of vehicles in a "non factory" color !
I have also seen Caravans & Spirits , etc. in this same grey . Usually Navy vehicles were grey ...

At one time a customer could order practically anything they wanted they wanted from a car company , not this take it or leave it attitude they've had for years . I bought a 1970 Barracuda parts car about 10 yrs ago , it was two tone , Gold with a green painted top FACTORY paint . I found out talking to others in Mopar circles that you could order " college colors" which were offered regionally so if your ala mata had colors of blue & gold that's what you could get on your ride .

Neice backed her mother's Caravan into the side of the Amethyst coupe yesturday. It's ugly as hell and as much as I'd like it fixed, it's just worthwhile for an 11 year old car (Neon). For what it would cost (them) to fix, I could prolly buy two cars.

So, i've got my eye on a 176,000 km 1999 Platinum DOHC Coupe with a knock (so the owner says). Worse comes to worse, I'll just swap the engine from the Amethyst coupe.

Or, just drive it as is.

That rear quarter looks like it might pop out without a whole lot of trouble, then you could just replace the door and make it look like it never happened. Or is it creased pretty bad and I'm not seeing it? It's really hard to show details of damage in photo's sometimes. It looks better off than my R/T's rear quarter at least.



I think I would have to cut out the panel from another car and graft it onto there to fix that sort of a mess What's interesting though is that the damage is only in the 'hollow space' for the body, when you open the door and look under the seat there's no evidence of being bent or anything.

I bought my coupe from a towing yard for $250.00 . The man there said he didn't know anything about it other than the fact that the woman driving it said the motor blew up . Once I got it home I discovered that someone cracked a plug changing them & it finally let go causing it to "blow up " which of course it was just running on 3 out of 4 !
There is GREAT satisfaction in taking a heap & making something out of it on next to nothing , then driving it by the owner who gave up on it too soon ... and it only had 64,000 on it at that point !

I looked at this grey car today. The pictures do it a LOT of justice. It started life as a blue car, don't think it's Lapis, but a darker blue. It was a fleet vehicle for a company called Videotron (I think).

Leaving it where it is. Not worth the $250 even.

No, it looks to me like it's more than just popped in, waiting to be popped out. If you look closely, you'll see that the rear edge of the door gap is pulled rearward (from the guarter being pushed in).

i have a lapis blue neon... its peeling really bad is that normal for that color cause all of the other lapis blue ones i see are also peeling...

one pair still on car , will cut off for $90 a side +freight or pick up

I appreciate the offer, but it's likely more work to replace the panel than to pull the dent out. Aaaannnd, that' a little bit far away, we have salvage yards here.

dude , you just pull the back seat & remove the interior panel . there's a hole in the inner wall sheetmetal you can reach through & push/pound it out . i did that on my beater Neon that was sideswiped !
