For Sale: 1964 Chrysler Imperial in Ken2od, Michigan for sale in Grand Rapids, MI

1 of 50
Vehicle Description The Chrysler design team brought in the highly respected Elwood Engle from Ford in 1961 with the main purpose to design the new Imperial and jump start sales.
In 1964 with the all new Imperial released it was an instant success with sales jumping 65% from previous year and a car that was routinely confused with the Lincoln brand.
This car had a team of 106 technicians that followed these cars around the plant, inspecting and analyzing every aspect of the car.
Their goal was to create a car that was unlike any other car on the market and one that would dwarf the competition such as Cadillac, Lincoln and even Mercedes.
Every component was tested and the leather and metal were handpicked to withstand the harsh environments.
We are super pleased to bring to market for just the 3rd time in the cars history this remarkable and stellar 1964 Chrysler Imperial Crown convertible with just over 74k original miles.
The car was built in the Jefferson MI plant and was assembled as an Imperial Crown convertible in Dune Beige exterior with matching top and the tan leather interior.
Vehicle was nicely optioned with the aircraft style front power bucket seats, power windows, auto headlight dimmer, white wall tires, remote trunk release, SureGrip differential, front retractable seatbelts, door edge protectors, tilt wheel, AM/FM stereo with power antenna, driver side manual remote mirror, and parade style convertible boot cover and vinyl cover.
Vehicle starts up with ease and precision.
Vehicle easily slides into gear with the unique TorqueFlite 3spd push button transmission.
Once out cruising the car is a pure joy to drive as it performs very well but the overall drive and feel is remarkable with great handling and a smooth and cushy ride over any roads.
Power steering and power brakes give you that extra reassurance as you drive in style.
These cars were built to impress and arrive in style and that surely hasn't changed.
During our test drive we received multiple thumbs up and many people starring at us as we floated down the roads.
This car remained in the South Carolina region for almost its entire life and according to the previous owner it only had 3 previous owners and miles are believed to be original and accurate.
Previous owner won a National First Prize in 2019 at an AACA competition in Florida.
This Imperial Crown just doesn't look good, but the car has great features and everything we tested were working properly such as; both power seats, turn signals, hi/lo headlights, horn, wipers, power antenna, radio, power windows, power top, clock, gauges and even the 3 cigarette lighters! The overall body and interior are in very good condition and in the stock setup.
The chrome is gorgeous with plenty of it and the mirrors and hood ornament are all stock and most of the time missing on these big body convertibles.
Under the hood is the impressive 413ci V8 that provides plenty of power and rest of engine compartment shows great.
Newer hood insulation pad, hoses, clamps, belts and radiator were replaced by previous owner in the past year.
This is a golden opportunity to buy the best on the market and invest properly in a car that you can enjoy with the family.
Vehicle comes with build sheet, owner's manual, factory brochure, spare tire, jack, re-pop stickers to be applied, two sets of keys, misc parts, shop manual, and clean Michigan title.
