Description

Campground and nature reserve hosted by a lovely couple, Jose and wife. Beautiful garden and 100m path through the forest to a river with lots of wildlife. Grassy space for camping. Sloths, frogs, and many birds can be observed here!!

Beautiful wild sloths and a lovely and hospitable couple. The two of them love nature and spend their time conserving the local forest. Jose spent almost 2 hours with us, showing us every inch of his garden and the forest, then gave us coconut water and sat with us for a coffee.

José the owner is a passionate of nature and loves to talk about it, it's a pleasure to learn all about wildlife in Costa Rica. We came with a tent, it's the perfect place to sleep, in a beautiful garden, were you feel safe and close to the nature of Costa rica. We stayed two nights, we highly recommend this place. You will also meet Miguel, he is staying on site to provide help to José to maintain the place, he was so kind with us and always wanted to ensure we are all good, if we have all we need, and gave us recommendations for the national park Tortuguero.
Also easy to access with all kind of vehicles.

It’s a paradise ! José and Alejandro take really good care of this little peace of heaven. I saw 5 sloths in the morning including a baby sloth, tons of birds, frogs, butterflies and a variety of plants and flowers. The tour was only USD 10 and camping another 10. Highly recommended.

Very friendly owner.
The communal area looks and feels better than the pictures show.

The nearby ruta 32 is being turned into a 4 lane highway and you hear the trucks passing by. Otherwise quiet place.

On the corner of the turn of to the campsite, there is a swimming pool you can use (you pay).

The campsite is not signposted very well.

Wonderful stop on our way from Cahuita to Arenal. Jose and Alejandro are very great hosts and will do everything they can to make you feel at home.
We did the tour with Jose. His knowledge about wildlife and nature in general is incredible. We have spent hours together looking for birds and any other type of animal.
We have seen many sloths too which was the main reason we came here and couldn’t be disappointed!
Can only recommend this beautiful place.

An exceptional place that absolutely deserves a visit. On the one hand for the site which is both magnificent and has all the necessary comfort for vanlifers. But above all for the richness of the place that Jose, who loves nature and his garden, wonderfully shares with us. He is really caring, shows us everything and makes us taste a lot of things. In one day (we strongly advise you to stay at least 2 nights there) we saw more animals in the wild than in a dozen days in Costa Rica. With a bit of patience, we had an unforgettable moment, where 2 sloths came down from their tree and crossed the path one meter from us to go to another. You may also be welcomed by Alejandro, just as helpful and friendly.

Price is 10$/pp/night which is very cheap regarding the experience we've got
