nveiled this month in its Italian hometown of Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Lamborghini Urus is everything you’d expect in the segment’s most
powerful Sports Utility Vehicle, coming to the USA in 2018. Long-awaited, since the first Urus concept was shown back in 2012, the Urus doesn’t disappoint. Its extraordinary proportions leave onlookers in no doubt that this is an SUV from the Lamborghini super sports car stable. It’s designed with a reference to icons from Miura to the LM002, yet with the pure, sharp looks and aerodynamic efficiency of current Lamborghini design. The raging bull badge on the low, powerful hood is a clear augur of the 650 HP generated by its twin-turbo petrol V8 engine, a zero to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph. Handling is no less impressive: the Urus adopts rear-wheel steering alongside its permanent four-wheel drive, active torque vectoring and, despite its impressive performance promised on road and even track, also features off-road driving 30

modes for snow and sand as well as dirt, underwritten by an engine producing 850 Nm of torque. The EGO mode programs the Urus ride to be as sporty and aggressive or as luxuriously comfortable as desired. Even the wheels mean business: rims can be specified up to 23�. Lamborghini claims the Urus creates a new SUV category, the Super SUV, with the innate ability of a Lamborghini specification to be as elegant or sporty as the owner wishes. How many large SUVs could carry off yellow? But despite a design focused on lightweight performance and dynamic driving characteristics, this is also a car for everyday driving. Extremely spacious for both driver and up to four other passengers, it is packed with connectivity, driver aids and safety features, not forgetting a large trunk. The Urus even comes with a tow-bar option. Lucky horses.

MCLAREN SENNA: THE MOST EXTREME STREET-LEGAL MCLAREN YET
O
ut of nowhere, McLaren has released their latest addition to their Ultimate Series. Introducing the Senna, a supercar that McLaren says is their most extreme road car yet. Named after the legendary Formula One driver Ayrton Senna, McLaren aimed to make the Senna a true track car that can legally drive on the road. To make this happen they started with raw power coming from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 789 bhp and 590 lb-ft of torque. This engine, code named M840TR, is McLaren most powerful combustion engine made for a road car. When engineers created this engine, they took inspiration from motorsport for the dry sump lubrication and flat-plane crankshaft. Dubious amounts of power would be no good if the car was heavy, so McLaren pulled out all of the stops and ensured every component of the Senna was as light as possible. In fact, every single body panel is made from carbon fiber. The final result is the lightest street-legal McLaren since the F1 at just 2,641 lbs.

Delivered from the factory in Affalterbach with over 600 HP the AMG E63 goes from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. With the upgraded software, RENNtech was able to gain more than 80 HP and 80 LB-FT over stock to bring the power of the 4.0L V8 TwinScroll BiTurbocharged engine up to 773 HP and 778 LB-FT. With ECU alone RENNtech was able to break the record for the world’s fastest street legal E63 AMG in the 1/4 mile in 10.685 seconds @ 130 mph. The RENNtech E63 is now able to go from 0-60 mph in 2.79 seconds and from 0-100 mph in 6.61 seconds, while doing the sprint from 60-130 mph in 8.27 seconds. All this without physically modifying engine or exhaust parts.
