MICHAEL DINES (AMERICAN B.1962),

MIXED MEDIA ON CANVAS

Massive acrylic and oil on canvas of a realistic “Green Sea Turtle” that lifts its head toward the light to break the surface for air. The stunning gracefulness of this creature is reflected in the smooth shell and flippers that glide in blue tropical waters with emerald green undertones to form a peaceful symbiosis. Michael Dines creates realistic depictions in misty settings visible in his paint application. He applied this technique in the impasto bubbles that form above the turtle and in thin layers of paint that appear as translucent water.
