Since planting its first vineyard in 1996, Malivoire has pioneered an innovative, eco-centric approach to wine growing on the Beamsville Bench in the Niagara Peninsula. As the first gravity-flow winery in Canada and Northeastern North America, we believe in a 'hands-off', sustainable approach to wine making.

TIP: Yelp Check-in was 1 Free Tasting!!!
Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from, but I enjoyed my visit here! We were greeted by 2 women who offered us wine samples right away WITH 2 different cheeses.
Upon entering, there was a blackboard with the specific wines that were recommended by different staff members.
I showed the Check-in offer to this lady behind the tasting counter and there were no issues. I told her what notes/flavours that I liked and she set me up! (One of the ladies outside actually recommended a specific wine I should try that was on the sweeter side.) It was quick and easy and I ended up getting that same bottle - not available at the LCBO!
Just prior to my check-out, the lady asked if I wanted to try their Icewines. It was on the second page of the menu that I completely missed! They were BOTH delicious, ~$35. I'd definitely consider picking 1 of those up.
All the staff that I encountered were very friendly!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lynn W.Sewickley, United States01Oct 8, 2021
IMHO this is the best winery in the Escarpment. Consistently great wines - red, white, and rose'. We have been coming here for 20 years from the states because of the delicious wines and the awesome service we have always had. Special thanks to Tammy and Eric for making our latest visit seem like a homecoming after 2 long COVID years. We love the Gamays but always find other gems to load the car with.
This is not a huge place, but the recent remodel has made it a gem. We've always had personal service from knowledgeable servers who love talking about the wines and the winemaking process. Come curious and don't be afraid to ask questions. If you can tell them what type of wine you like, they will gladly steer you in the right direction.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This was a great winery! We interacted with a woman who used to live in Ottawa, and she was simply delightful. She was engaging with our kids, and was very personable and down to earth. We learned that the winery was founded by a man who used to live in Hollywood and who worked in the special effects industry. Indeed, the winery looks very artistic in nature. I would return.

I have been here a few times and must update my review...
From experience I find that...
1. I always enjoy every wine I try here. Some places have one overpriced award winner and some real duds. You can count on great whites and reds here. They have numerous award winners, as well as both LCBO and very limited release wines.
2. The Rennie series that they bottle here is fantastic and worth the 3$ a taste to taste.
3. The Cheesy Guys located outside in the parking lot are awesome. They offer great things like Brie sliders, toasted cheese sandwiches and fresh cheese. Aside from great cheese, they are exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly.
4. The staff at Malivoire are also fantastic. Hats off to Barbara for making my most recent visit with out of town guests an absolute delight.
5. Malivoire is now a must stop for me each time I visit wine country. There are flashier wineries out there, but few with wine as fine as this.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0May 20, 2013Previous reviewMalivoire has some nice wines. The Lady Bug is an easy drinking rosé that is also sold in the LCBO. A little better choice is the Musqué Spritz which won gold at a recent competition. Malivoire also has a couple of other award winning wines that are worth sampling and buying.
1. The service is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.
2. If you go on Sundays, there is a cheese truck that sells amazing cheese from all over, as well as a specialty soup and pizza, making this a good midpoint or light snack stop in your wine country touring.
3. Malivoire is not quite as connected to joint tastings and tours put on by other wineries. If there is some special event in the region, they might not be plugged in.
4. The set up here is fine. Definitely at a midpoint between Spartan wineries and palatial ones.
5. The bathrooms are easily accessible, but were not very clean on my visit. - Anne M.Toronto, ON131916Sep 8, 2019
A really small run winery! No Reisling's on the flights we tried, but they made up for it by having really unique cheeses for sampling & buying! We tried 2 different types of Chocolate Cheese ... yes, I did say that & a Beer Cheese! We brought home a nice piece of the Beer Cheese!

Skip this place. They're all about high-end looking customers.
We came to spend money after sampling some wine.
We showed up. Were given a menu. 4 couples were served and no one even bothered to acknowledge us. We will GLADLY go up the street to spend our money on a case of wine.
TERRIBLE customer service here. Move along!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We are so sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience with us. We consistently receive 5 star ratings through many review forums, so we especially regret hearing about your visit. While Saturday afternoon in the tasting room is the busiest time to visit us, we do our best to have engaging, educated and fun staff that are attentive to the needs of our visitors, at every level of wine knowledge. We always have our current wines available for tasting and can usually find something that can suit both your tastes and your budget. We hope that you will come back again so that we can change your mind about Malivoire.

Malivoire is a really fun stop on a Niagara wine tour. Don't let the looks of the winery from the outside put you off--it looks like it should be a shelter for nuclear war or highway maintenance vehicles. This place is a compromise between the tiny and slightly fussy producers and the mega-wineries closer to the lake.
Inside, the staff are incredibly warm, gregarious, and informed. Our server was more than thrilled to ply us with as many wines as we wanted to taste. Generous pours abounded with the ability to revisit anything that struck your interest. Of particular note was their chardonnay which has a beautiful hint of malolactic fermentation. They also had a nice sparkling as well as an ice white that puts the Iniskillin swill sold in the Wine Rack to shame.
On the weekend we were there, there was a grilled cheese food truck from Cheesy Guys parked outside, which made for a perfect and casual lunch break. Grilled cheeses were excellent and only $5 a piece. They even have some licensed picnic tables that do wine by the glass.
Overall, a very fun and enjoyable stop in Niagara.
P.S. Free tastings/tours for up to 5 people with a Visa Infinite Card.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Devon R.Hamilton, ON1630431Jul 15, 2018
Great winery. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They were okay with one of us doing a tasting and our baby hanging out. Very laid back and nice. We grabbed two glasses and stopped by the cheese truck out front for a nice cheese plate. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate that you shared your experience with others. The cheese truck is here most weekends from May to October and often for special Festival events too! We hope that you will come back to visit us again soon.

Malivoire is one of my consistent stops in the Beamsville Bench. They have a large selection of quality wines available to taste in their comfortable tasting room, so you should be able to find something in there you like. They also frequently host fun and educational events in the adjoining space.
I won`t go into a lengthy description of my tasting notes, but I will mention my two faves here. First, the Musque Spritz - a fun interpretation of the grape with light bubbles, this goes down too easily on just about any occasion. Second, the Marechal Foch, a less common grape that works wonderfully with foods that pair well with mid weight reds, such as pasta and pizza.
In the summer, the Cheesy Guys set up shop outside on the weekends and provide a fantastic selection of premium cheeses from their little trailer, so this place becomes a 2 for 1 stop and shop.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
