This Tour De France Blu Ferrari 550 Is The Budget Daytona You Always Wanted

From Road & Track

Ferrari built 1406 Daytonas, 122 of which were open top GTS/4s. Two years ago, a totally neglected 1971 GTB/4 sold for $770,000, which means a good coupe will likely cost you well over a million today. Double that in case you want a Spider. Would I fork out that much for a hardly rare GT from the seventies? Nope. That's F40 money.

I would much rather pay £164,995 ($215,000 USD) for this 1999 Tour De France Blu/Tan Ferrari 550 Maranello, with its six-speed gated manual and 199 mph top speed. Mostly because it's just as beautiful as any old Daytona.

Ferrari built 3083 examples of the 550 Maranello between 1996 and 2001, and this car is one of the 457 right-hand drive versions with a rare color combo and only 26,300 miles on its belt. Its 5.5-liter 65-degree four-valve cast alloy V12 features forged alloy Mahle pistons and titanium conrods, producing 485 horsepower at 700 0rpm. The 550 also has perfect weight distribution at 50/50, which made EVO name it the best drivers' car of its decade.

I know the Daytona has the racing pedigree to sweeten the deal, but guess what? So does the Maranello!
