Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake All-Terrain rendered

Ever wondered what the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake will look like as an All-Terrain model? Well, wonder no more, as automotive manipulator Theophilus Chin has created this render, which is inspired by the latest X213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain.

Visually, the vehicle features the same plastic body cladding, rugged-looking grille and generous ride height as the soft roader, applied onto the current W218 CLS’ body. “Can you imagine the horror and shock on the face of loyal Mercedes-Benz fans if this CLS All-Terrain becomes a reality?” asks Theo.

Mercedes will soon say goodbye to the current W218 CLS, which shares the same platform with the previous W212 E-Class. Word is the third-generation model is currently in development, and expected to arrive in the market sometime in 2018.

Likely to adopt the W213 E-Class’ platform, the new CLS range is said to drop the Shooting Brake version entirely due to poor demand from customers, so this imagining of a CLS Shooting Brake All-Terrain will likely not make the transition into reality.

Even in Malaysia CLS was a big failure. MBM should just concentrate on their A, C, E and S.

the problem with MBM, they will launch so many models and bear the loss when they cannot sell it.

Then they pass the losses to customers to absorb with higher servicing cost etc.

come on MBM, be clever a bit. only 4 lines sell in Malaysia. Your B, SLC, SLK, CLA, CLS are all failures in Malaysia and have cause you so much losees

I know a certain business that will buy this model. But Mercedes will have to customize for them by taking out the back seats and a rack in front of the bonnet to mount picture.

Looks like the latest words in motoring is shooting brake, Torque Vectoring & Matrix Led Headlamps.

I doubt it will sell well with a look that is not so captivating/appealing. Nevertheless, some Merc customers will still buy it due to its Marque & Prestige that it carries.

At least MBM is giving its wealthy customers more choices even though MBM knows this will not make them $$$ bcos BMW offers its customers more choices.
