TT-P-1757 TY I, CL C is a single component, chromate, low moisture sensitivity primer primarily intended for spray application on surface treated aluminum or surfaces treated with pretreatment coatings MIL-C-8514C or DOD-P-15328D. This primer may be used with or without a topcoat. When suitable thinned, this primer may be used for dip or flow coat application.
TT-P-1757 TY I, CL N is a single component, Non-chromate, low moisture sensitivity primer primarily intended for spray application on surface treated aluminum or surfaces treated with pretreatment coatings MIL-C-8514C or DOD-P-15328D. This primer may be used with or without a topcoat. When suitable thinned, this primer may be used for dip or flow coat application.
TT-P-1757 TY II, CL C, is a single component, chromate, low moisture sensitivity primer. Volatile organic compound (VOC) content less than or equal to 340 grams/liter (gm/l) (2.8 lb./gal) This primer may be used with or without a topcoat. When suitable thinned, this primer may be used for dip or flow coat application.
TT-P-1757B Specification, Types, & Classes
This specification covers the requirements for two types, classes, and colors of a one-component, alkyd-base, corrosion-inhibiting primer coating.
Classification. The coating covered by this specification is divided into the following types, classes, and colors.
Types The types of coatings are as follows:
- Type I – Volatile content consists of non-photochemically reactive solvents
- Type II – Volatile organic compound (VOC) content less than or equal to 340 grams/liter (gm/l) (2.8 lb./gal)
Classes The classes of coatings are as follows:
- Class C – Chromate based corrosion-inhibitors
- Class N – Non-chromate based corrosion-inhibitors
Color. The primer coating colors consist of the following:
- Color Y – Deep yellow
- Color T – Green (FED-STD-595, color number 34151)
