1985 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA WIDE BODY CABRIOLET
This particular vehicle was the subject of a Tourist delivery from the Porsche factory and organised for it’s Adelaide buyer through the local dealer at the time, Chateau Moteur. It would have been driven around Europe for some time, before being bought back to the owner’s Adelaide address.
All in all, it has had four owners and spent most of its time in Adelaide. The current owner bought it in 2004 and has remained in contact with the 3rd owner, who bought in in 1988.
A genuine wide bodied cabriolet, option (491) is quite a rare item, with only 389 built in 1985 and mainly for the US market, so a genuine RHD car is very rare.
Powered by a 3.2 Litre 6 cylinder engine, it produces 149Kw and 251Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 5 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures when new were 0-100kph in 6.7 secs and a top speed near 230kph. Being a genuine wide bodied cabriolet, it has most of the Turbo attributes, the turbo wide body, turbo brakes and suspension, but minus the turbo engine.
