2009 BMW G 650 GS
This incredibly capable 2009 BMW G 650 GS arrived earlier this week and is being offered for consignment by it third owner who purchased it private party in November of 2022. Over the past 800 miles of ownership, it has had one full “get it running” service performed at BMW Motorcycles of Seattle right when the bike was purchased. The bike has a few upgrades such as Givi side panniers, Givi windscreen, Factory and Corbin seat, Grip puppies soft grips, and a Kildala rear brake master protector. This is a perfect machine for on or off-road, we did a full inspection upon its arrival, and the bike passed with flying colors. This sweet beamer is the ultimate middleweight adventure tourer and would be a fantastic bike for its next owner.
We have one key, the owner’s manual, our service record, and a clean WA title
PRESS
BMW’s G 650 GS is an interesting learner option, which definitely looks outside the box as a learner choice. Ideally for the inexperienced a low seat height, low center of gravity, and relatively light and easily ridden bike is ideal. The seating position is upright and gives great vision, with reach to the bars easy and comfortable. The tall front end is much lighter than anything I’ve ridden before, without being flighty, and provides great control and an easy turning circle, although turning the bars is a bit disconcerting at first. With sportier bikes and just in general riding you normally quickly learn that body positioning and lean provide most of your steering input, while the GS can be more manhandled through turning the bars, particularly for low-speed traffic maneuvers.
With the bike’s long suspension travel, enduro theme, and distinct styling this is definitely an option that will appeal to specific riders but also undoubtedly create many a grin, particularly for people who are looking for a good all-rounder. You only have to look at how many of these BMW model lines are out on the road these days to realize they are a really fun, viable choice.
