Beautiful, smooth driving, powerful, brakes strong. ***mileage slowly increasing from time of posting***
This is the more desirable Valiant Signet model (2-door, no post behind door - see pics, Commando 273 V8 (upgraded to 318-LA V8 engine)). Cousin to the Plymouth Barracuda and Dodge Dart (many parts interchangeable between A-Body MOPARs).
- Paint in good condition; touched up by previous owner in a few spots (looks great from 10-20' and in most spots from 1-2’). All badges on bodywork present
- Barracuda hubcaps installed by previous owner
- Glass all in good condition for its age (no cracks); all windows and cranks function (open/close) properly
- Doors, trunk, hood all function and are aligned properly
- Interior good (dash and gauges very good; new carpet, floor pans are solid, trunk is solid; upholstery fair to good (ok with some tears covered by previous owner - could use as-is or re-upholster if you want it perfect). Needs headliner, but roof sprayed black and I don't notice the lack when driving
- Electrical good (lights, blinkers, brake lights, gauges all functional); horn not hooked up to aftermarket steering wheel yet
- Transmission solid
- Engine smooth and powerful (will lay down rubber if/when you try)
Upgrades:
- upgraded the stock 273ci V-8 to MOPAR factory rebuilt 318ci LA V-8 (engine rebuild now broken in and fresh oil/filter change done 2/16/2024)
- custom exhaust (see pics; sounds good!)
- Edelbrock intake and 4bbl carb
- Very slight rake (front lowered slightly and easily adjustable; front tires lower profile than rear) for more muscular stance. 3rd and 4th full-profile tires are in the trunk if you want all four the same - one is on the spare.
- rebuilt steering column with new worm gear - absolutely no play in the steering - solid. Worm gear wears over the years on these older cars (creating "play" in the steering), so this is a great upgrade.
- Edelbrock intake and 4bbl carburetor (power)
I work a lot, so email via Craigslist only. I will check at least twice a week, so please be patient for my response.
