(Scott 314), two postal stationery entires with large imprint and plate no. 3365 blocks affixed to reverse sent registered from Hot Springs VA via NYC to Germany, first is bottom right corner block of 44 (11 x 4) with full arrow at left and also plate number at right, canceled with Hot Springs VA registry ovals and light but large blue crayon "28", front is legal sized 1¢ entire with New York City registry label, the other entire has an imprint and plate no. block of 18 tied by boxed "Hot Springs VA" handstamps and duplex cancel at bottom and New York 1908 registry oval, front is 2c entire with violet "Hot Springs VA Registered Mar. 9, 1908" double circle handstamp and New York City registry label, both entires have faults but are very unusual frankings, Very Fine appearance, the cover with the block of 18 is noted in Max Johl's "The United States Postage Stamps of the Twentieth Century, Vol. 1, 1901-1922". Specifically, it is discussed on page 45 in the paragraph on relief breaks. Johl writes, "Among the plates used for the imperforate stamps was #3365, on which the "one dot" and "two dot" relief break first occurred…We have seen a cover dated March 10, 1908, mailed from Hot Springs VA, which contained a block of 18 of the imperf stamps. These included the upper right plate number block from #3365 and showed the "two dot" relief break on each stamp. This block also showed 13 large shifts and 5 small ones."
