Brashear were united in mar-
riage at 7 p.m Saturday, Oct. 5, in
Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ in
Odessa. Larry Roberts officiated the
double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bill
and Bobbye Harris of Odessa.
The groom is the son of Glen and
Carolyn George of Brashear. He is the
grandson of Annie Belle George and
the late Henry George and Edgar
Bearden and the late Josie Bearden,
all of Brashear.
Given in marriage by her parents'
and escorted to the altar by her father,
the bride, wore a Bianci gown of
white bridal satin. The scalloped lace
Sabnna neckline enhanced the basque
bodice of beaded Alencon lace. The
gown was designed with gathered
sleeves of satin inset with cut-out lace
appliques. The lace-edged V-back
was accentuated with satin covered
buttons. The full slurt flowed to a
chapel-length train that was bordered
in Alencon lace.
The bridal headpiece was a two-
tiered shoulder-length veil attached to
a headband of roses and pearls.
She carried a bouquet of cascading
white roses accented with English ivy.
The bride chose to carry out the tra-
ditional wedding custom of some-
thing old and something borrowed, a
handkerchief that belonged to the
groom's grandmother, something
new. her wedding gown; something
blue, her mother's garter, and a 1991
penny from her father placed in her
shoe

Music for the ceremony was pro-
vided by the Sixth and Jackson
Church of Christ Singers, under the
direction of Benny Kick.
The ceremony was opened with
Sweet. Sweet Spirit and One of His
Own. During God Give Vs Christian
Homes, the parents were escorted in
and they lighted the unity candle. As
the bride was escorted to the altar by
her father, the singers then sang The
Wedding March.
Following the pronouncement, the
bride and groom lighted the unity
candle while Love Me Tender was
sang. The couple left the sanctuary to
Come Share the Spirit.
Following the ceremony, the
bride's parents hosted a reception at
the Odessa Hilton.
The bride's table was covered with
a white tablecloth, accented with lace.
The three-tiered all-white cake,
designed by Mary Gonzales, was
adorned with white pearls and bows.
White bells and roses accented the
sides of the cake. Double-tiered cakes
accented each side of the main cake.
Two doves on a double-ring topped
the cake. The bride's bouquet was
also placed on the table.
The groom’s table was covered
with a white tablecloth accented with
white lace. The chocolate cake was
also designed by Gonzales. It was
identical in design to the bride's main
cake.
The Satin Strings orchestra, direct-
ed by Kathy Fishbum, performed
assorted selections at the reception.

Edgar Bearden and Annie Belle
George, hosted a dairy reception, the
following weekend to honor the new-
lyweds at Brashear Baptist Church.
David Bums introduced the couple.
Italian cream cake and red velvet
cake, both made by June Watson,
were served, along as ice cream,
cheese and milk Hors d'oeuvres were
provided by Gienna Stanley of Wolfe
City.
After the Brashear reception, die
couple left for an eight-day honey-
moon in Montego Bay. Jamaica. They
will reside in Brashear
The bnde is a graduate of the Uni-
versity of Texas in Austin. She is
employed as a pharmacist with True
Quality Pharmacy at Brookshire s in
Greenville.
The groom is a graduate of East
Texas State University. He is
employed by Associated Milk Pro-
ducers. Inc., in Sulphur Springs.

On the eve of the wedding, the
groom's parents hosted a rehearsal
dinner m honor of the couple at John-
ny's Barbecue in Odessa.. The bride
and groom presented gifts to the
members of the wedding party.
Traci Carroll Harris was honored
with a miscellaneous shower on Sun-
day. Sept 15. at the Odessa Hihon. It
was hosted by Alma Arroyo. Iris
Basinger. Judy Bridges. Arlene Cole.

united in marriage at 2 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 16, in the sanctuary of
First United Methodist Church in Sul-
phur Springs. The Rev. Jon Redmond
of Waco officiated the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ronny GIossup of Dike.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Weldon GIossup and Mr. and
Mrs. Houston Winnett, all of Sulphur
Springs.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs Lewis Helm. He is the grandson
of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Helm and
Violet Johnson, all of Sulphur
Springs.
Given in marriage by her parents
and escorted to the altar by her father,
the bride wore a formal white peau de
soie gown embellished with lace,
hand-sewn pearls and iridescent
sequins.
The fitted bodice of the Victorian-
style gown featured a high neckline
with a cameo cutout lined with illu-
sion and accented with hand-sewn
pearls.
The back of the dress featured a
featured a cameo cutout and
appliques with pearls and sequins.
The long, puffed sleeves were embel-
lished with lace appliques trimmed in
hand-sewn pearls. They formed a
point over the bride’s hand.
The full skirt fell to a chapel-length
train adorned trimmed with scalloped
edges of Chantilly lace.
A Dior bow adorned the train along
with beaded appliques. The bottom
front of the dress featured a large
applique of hand-sewn pearls and iri-
descent sequins.
The bride also wore fingertip-
length veil that featured a headband
of white satin flowers and iridescent
sequins. The single pouf was trimmed
in pearls.
The bride carried a sculptured bou-
quet of cascading lilies, roses and
stephanotis blooms. Petit point ivy
tendrils were interspersed for added
interest.
The bride carried out the traditional
wedding custom of something old,
pearl earrings; something new, her
dress; something borrowed, a hand-
kerchief belonging to the groom's
great aunt; and something blue, a blue
garter belonging to the groom’s moth-
er.
Kerry Cox of Sulphur Bluff served
as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Myndi Helm,
sister of the groom, and Mandy
Wright, cousin of the bride.
Each bridal attendants wore a tea-
length dresses with a full skirt of for-
est green. The fitted bodice was fash-
ioned of peach floral print on a forest
green background.
The sweetheart neckline was
accented with a forest green bow.
The back bodice featured a deep “V”
accented with a large forest green
bow.
Each attendant also wore a strand
of pearls and pearl earrings. In their
hair, they wore barrettes decorated
with peach roses and peach and forest
green ribbons.
They earned long-stemmed roses in
shades of peach, trimmed in the
bride's chosen colors.
Mrs. Steven Jonas MeCm
Monica Helm, cousin of the groom,
and Candace Van Winkle, cousin of
the bride, served as flowergirls.
They wore identical dresses of
peach and forest green. Each peach
print fitted bodice featured a sweet-
heart neckline with a forest green
bow on each shoulder. A forest green
sash formed a bow in the back. The
full knee-length skirts were of forest
green.
They also wore their hair French
braided in a halo style with a barrette
trimmed with peach roses and dainty
forest green and peach ribbons.
They carried soft peach wicker bas-
kets with dainty lace edging and
petite ribbons from which they
dropped peach rose petals.
The groom wore a blkck Pierre
Cardin tuxedo with a white cummer-
bund and a white bowtie. The
groom's boutonniere was a white
Lady Di rose accented with baby’s
breath.
Harold Deaton of Dike served as
bestman.
Groomsmen were Ray Ragan and
Dean Henderson. They wore black
Pierre Cardin tuxedos with peach
cummerbunds and peach bowties.
The boutonnieres were fashioned
from Lady Di roses.
Chance Van Winkle, cousin of the
bride, served as ringbearer. He wore a
black Pierre Cardin tuxedo with
peach cummerbund and bowtie iden-
tical to those worn by the grooms-
men.
He earned a white satin pillow
trimmed with lace and pearls. The
couple's names and wedding date
were cross-stitched in forest green
with peach cross-stitched roses. Two
gold rings accented the pillow.
Brian Wright, cousin of the bride,
lighted the candles. Corey Bur gin and
Jerry Blount served as ushers. They
each wore a black tuxedo with peach
cummerbund, bowtie and bouton-
niere.
Music for the ceremony was pro-
vided by Barbara Taylor, pianist, and
Angie Diamond and Jason Frazier,
vocalists.
Diamond sang The Parents' Prayer
as the couple’s parents lighted the
unity candle and were seated.
After the bride was given in mar-
riage, Frazier sang Wind Beneath My
Wings.
As the couple lighted the unity can-
dle, the vocalists sang Endless Love.
Nuptials were pronounced before
an altar featuring an elegant arrange-
ment of white gladiolus, peach gerber
daisies and roses.
The backdrop of soft candlelight
and tiered votive designs on the chan-
cel rail completed the setting.
Family pews were designated with
clusters of gypsoph^lia caught by
satin ribbons in peach and forest
green.
The registry table in the foyer of
the church held an arrangement of
white gladiolus and roses. Coco Cox
presided at the registry.
Following the ceremony, the
bride's parents hosted a reception in
the fellowship hall of the church.
The bride's table was skirted in an
heirloom lace cloth and held a mas-
sive arrangement of white gladiolus,
orchids and lilies.
The bride’s cake was a three-tiered
white-iced confection designed with
a fountain and ornamental filigree
bridges connecting four additional
smaller cakes.
Peach roses, ivy and gypsophelia
were used profusely to enhance the
elaborate design.
A chocolate cake frosted with
mocha icing, English walnuts and
swirls was served from the groom's
table.
Punch, coffee, nuts and mints were
served from silver appointments.
Wedding ferns and arrangements in
white and peach were used through-
out the reception area.
Members of the houseparty were
Sharon Helm, Janet Lumley, Sally
Flippen, Delann Wallace and Wendy
Wright.
Stacy Spradlin and Haley Spradlin,
cousins of the bride, passed out peach
birdseed bags as the couple prepared
to leave for their honeymoon.
The bags were elaborately arranged
in peach wicker baskets and trimmed
with tulle and forest green ribbons.
The bride is a 1990 graduate of
Sulphur Bluff High School. She
attended East Texas State University
and is employed at City National
Bank.
The groom is a 1986 graduate of
Sulphur Springs High School. He is a
self-employed rancher.
Following a wedding trip to Can-
cun, Mexico, the couple is at home in
Sulphur Springs.
Showers and (Parties
The groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Helm, hosted a rehearsal din-
ner Friday night, Nov. 15, at Sulphur
Springs Country Club. A prime rib
dinner was served. After the meal, the
couple presented their attendants with
gifts.
The Broadway branch of City
National Bank held a shower in honor
of the bride-elect on Wednesday, Nov.
13. A variety of snack foods were
served.
A miscellaneous shower was host-
ed Tuesday, Oct. 29, at City National
Bank. Guests were served cake, nuts,
mints and punch. Hostesses were
Donna Henderson, Sally Gilmore and
Donna McQueen.
A rice bag party and Christmas
ornament shower was held Sunday,
Nov. 10, in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Helm. The bridesmaids and
Chandra Griffin and Delann Wallace
were hostesses for the event. Guests
were served assorted snack foods.
On Sunday, Oct. 20, the couple was
honored with a miscellaneous shower
in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Helm. Hostesses were Mrs. Helm,
Janet Lumley, Sharon Helm and Lisa
Capps. Cake, nuts, mints and punch
were served.
A shower was held Saturday, Oct.
19, at Sulphur Springs State Bank
community room. Hostesses were
Mary Lou Wright, Sherri Spradlin
and Joyce Van Winkle. Cake, nuts,
mints and punch were served.
On Wednesday, Oct. 16, the bride-
elect was honored with a miscella-
neous shower in the fellowship hall of
Sulphur Bluff Baptist Church.
Hostesses were Carol Deaton, Sharon
Cox, Angie Mitchell, June Bassham,
Barbara Domer and Evelyn Randall.
Guests were served vegetables,
dip. Polish sausage, cheese and crack-
ers, a variety of cookies, punch and
hot spiced cider.
Melanie GIossup was honored with
a miscellaneous shower on Saturday,
Sept. 14, at the Dike Community
Colter.
Guests were served cake, punch,
nuts and mints. Hostesses for the
event were Moverine Deaton, Patsy
Potts, Mary Helen Corley and Willa
Dean Irvin.
