proximately six percent from 1988,
with 6,839 taken by about 20,000

WILLIS—Willis’ Derek Branham
carded a 36-hole total 160 to finish se-
cond at the two-day District
21-AAAA golf tournament at
Wedgewood Golf Course.
Branham shot rounds of 79-81 to
linish behind A&M's Alan Bratton,
o ho won medalist honors with a two-
day total of 154, including a two-
i.ver-par 74 during the final 18 holes.
A&M’s Robert Newton was third
medalist with a 165.
A&M Consolidated won the tourna-
ment at 668. Mayde Creek was a sur-
prising second at 716, followed by
Brenham at 723, Katy Taylor and
a&M’s B-team at 730 and Oak Ridge
at 792
The top two teams and individuals
will advance to the Region III, Class
4A, tournament at Waterwood on
Lake Livingston on Monday and
Tuesday, April 23-24.
First Blood
The first American blood was
shed in the Revolutionary War on
April 19, 1775, at the battles of
Lexington and Concord.
Senior Citizens Fishing
Tournament to be held
Lake Livingston - - A Senior Citi-
zens Fishing Tournament will be held
April 24th at Haynes Marina starting
at 10 A.M.
This event will be sponsored by
Hanes Marina and Restaurant,
Community Ford Mercury, Hamann
Realty, Lone Eagle Guide Service,
and Arrowhead Bait Company.
The participants will be residents
of BurMont Nursing Home, Timber-
wood Nursing Home, and the Living-
ston Convalescent Center.
Trophies will be awarded for the
first fish caught, the biggest fish
caught, and the most fish caught.
