It was late last Spring when I picked up a Matchbox Super Kings Ford LTS Tractor cab in a box of old toys. Shortly thereafter, I started searching eBay for a matching Articulated Petrol Tanker trailer to pair it with. At one point, while looking for a trailer for my lonely Majorette Mercedes-Benz NG cab, I accidentally bought a much larger scale Majorette Super Movers Horse Trailer. I put the Ford LTS Tractor with the Horse Trailer; they looked okay together, but I was not really satisfied with the pairing.

Most of the trailers I came across on eBay were in poor condition and were still demanding a pretty high price. But I recently found one that was in decent shape and I was able to make an offer and get it for a reasonable price. It has no missing parts or labels (though they are a bit worn and discolored) and a few nicks and scratches in the paint and plastic tank.

The Articulated Tanker trailer features a set of wheels near the front that help it stand up when it is unhitched. The wheels can be retracted when the trailer is hitched to the cab.

My only failing with this trailer is that the red is not the metallic red of my Ford LTS cab. (I didn’t realize there were two different reds until I put them together and could clearly see the difference.) Still, it’s a better pairing than the Majorette Horse Trailer. And now I’m on the lookout for a Majorette cab for my Horse Trailer.
