Seller's Description

2004 Chevy Full 4x4 Pop Top Camp Van, Lifted, (has AWD / 4 HI / 4 LOW), with Colorado Camper Van Automated Pop-top. $27,500 Or Best Offer. My family has out-grown our adventure van and it is time for her to find a new home. This van started life as a stock 2004 AWD Chevy Astro passenger van 11 years ago and it has been converted to "Westy Weekender" style 4WD camper van. I selected the NP236 transfer case for this van as it maintained the stock AWD while also offering 4Hi and 4Low. When “Auto” is selected with this transfer case the van is in stock All Wheel Drive mode and allows it to track like a Subaru in snowy conditions. This is the setting I select for day to day driving. 4X4 HI range and 4X4 Low range can be selected for certain off road conditions and gearing needs. (2wd hi can be achieved by disconnecting the front differential, this is manually disconnected by a Posi-Loc cable actuator in the engine bay.) I selected the Colorado Camper Van pop top when building this van because they offered an H style penthouse top allowing greater room in the sleeping area than that of GTRV or a Westy style pop top. CCV also offered great fabric and window options allowing the sleeping area to be both well insulated for cold nights and have lots of ventilation if needed. This can sleep two adults, maybe just one for larger folks. We do have a trap door that allows us to sleep two adults and a smaller child in the penthouse top all together. The Van: • 2004 Chevy Astro Van AWD (converted to push button 4wd) • 142K miles • 4.3L V6 • Power windows • Trip computer with compass, range, temperature • Air Conditioning front and rear • 1 rear bench seat (seats 3) mounting points for 2 car seats The Modifications: • Colorado Campervan Penthouse pop top • NP236 4X4 Transfer case - Push Button activation (AWD / 4HI / 4LOW ) • Overland Vans 4" lift kit • Cooper Discovery 245/75/16 C rated tires • Auxiliary House Battery • ARB Offroad Fridge • Propex HS2211 forced air propane heater. See it here: https://www.propexheatsource.com/heaters/hs2211-furnace/ • LED interior lighting • Fantastic Fan • Front passenger seat swivel • Auxiliary Transmission cooler • Land Rover captains seats (much more supportive) • 2" hitch and trailer wiring The New: (in the last 2000 miles) • All new front suspension and steering: Upper and lower control arms, CV axles, torsion bar springs, ball joints, drag link, idler arms, and tie rods. • Air Conditioning front and rear (entirely new system with warranty) • New Alternator • Serpentine belt and belt tensioner • Muffler • Rear brake pads • Auxiliary House Battery The Good: • Van is in good running order, every system operates as it should and has been reliably driving From Boise, Idaho to Donnelly, Idaho and back as well as to Bogus Basin ski resort and back on a regular basis. • Motor pulls strong • Doesn't leak or burn oil • Doesn't leak or burn coolant • Fuel pump replaced 20k ish miles ago • Water pump replaced 30k ish miles ago • Radiator replaced 30k ish miles ago • Spark Plugs / Wires / distributor cap replaced 10k ish miles ago. • Battery replaced 4ish years ago • Front and rear shocks 6k ish miles ago. • Motor and transmission mounts replaced 6k ish miles ago. • Carpet has some stains but overall in good condition as it has been largely covered with mats. The Worn: • Drivers seat bottom is torn up. (Carhart lower seat cover works very well) • Some paint scratching and a few dents from our adventures • Drivers door side armrest has some cracking in it. • There are a few button lights around the dash that no longer illuminate. • The oil pressure indicator is a bit fluttery caused by a common Chevy indicator problem. • Stereo is all stock and the speakers are not great if you are listening to something with a lot of base. The "In Progress": • I always intended to install a winch mount under the bumper so the bumper mount is a bit tight in its current location. • Front differential disconnect is mounted under the hood, I always intended to move this into the cabin. • The fridge is tied down with a strap. This works fine but I always intended to build an ARB slider style mount for this. The upside to the strap is that the fridge can be easily removed adding space to the cabin when it is not needed. What's included: • 5 lb propane tank for the Propex heater • Adaptor to use 1 lb propane cylinders • Rear shelving unit • Under bench seat storage bin • Full Factory service manuals • Lots of spares if desired • Thule Roof rack with two bike trays • Cargo Basket and Thule Basket bag • Small trash can bag • TR3 Resin Glaze polish that I use to keep the poptop polished. • lots of records. This van has been my primary vehicle for the last 11 years and has been in a constant state of improvement. It has been continually maintained and is a great road worthy camp van.
