1974 Firebird Formula L-78 400 cubic inch, 225 HP, THM 400 automatic transmission, 3:08 rear end, numbers matching, except for carb which is correct QuadrJet 4 barrel, 65,000 mile rust free California car. This Firebird was built in Norwalk and delivered to Art Zier Pontiac in Sacramento, California in November of 1973. It spent the next 34 years in the Golden State until 2007 when I purchased it.  In 2008-2009 the body was stripped to bare metal before repainting in the original V code Ascot Silver. Paint is a 9.5 of 10. The chrome trim is also original and remains in excellent condition. The original 15 inch honeycomb wheels were restored and finished with NOS wheel caps, original trim rings and finished with new BF Goodrich Radial TA’s.  Engine compartment is detailed to resemble a stock look with date coded spark plug wires.   Carpet, front seat covers, weather stripping, package tray and headliner were replaced. Interior is in excellent condition and looks like new. 

This Formula has factory accent stripes. The original trunk mat, space saver spare tire w/bottle and jack are still with this car. The dash is in excellent shape with no cracks or cut-outs and the original Delco stereo radio is in the car and sounds great.    

This three owner Formula comes with original build sheet, PHS and original owner’s manual. I have all receipts for parts and work performed that go with the car. Every bit of updating performed has been done to preserve the originality of this fine automobile.

This heavily optioned Formula with was built with black custom interior, THM 400 3 speed automatic, A/C, formula steering wheel, AM/FM Stereo Radio, Rally Gauge Cluster and the functional ram air hood and air cleaner assembly.  According to Pontiac records, about 10 percent of the total Formulas produced in 1974 were equipped with the functional fresh air inlet ram air hood.
