Is Chicago Fire‘s Brett mulling a getaway? Is All American ready for some (more, actual) football? Who on The Resident is planning a secret [spoiler]? Read on for answers to those questions plus teases from other shows! (Email any new Qs to InsideLine@tvline.com.)
Anything you can share about what’s in store for Chicago Fire‘s Brett? —Sue
Showrunner Derek Haas tells Inside Line that in the near future, Kara Killmer’s paramedic is going to find herself “stuck between a rock and a ski trip.”
Will we see more Kylie (played by Katelynn Shennett) on Chicago Fire? We love her. –Christine
“We love her, too, and yes, she is now a part of Firehouse 51,” says Derek Haas. “You will be seeing her very soon when she helps Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) through an intense situation.”
Has Jon Cryer been upgraded to series regular on Supergirl? –Brian
Though Cryer is not a series regular for the CW drama’s farewell run, I am hearing that, following a brief, upcoming absence, Lex will again loom large in the back half of the season.
Season 3 of All American (returning April 12) has been drama-filled. Do you have any scoop on when football will be coming back, or when we’ll see characters planning their college futures? –Nia
Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll promises that “football games come back with a bang in Episode 10 (airing April 19), with tension-filled homecoming games at both schools.” As for the second part of your Q, the EP says that the kids’ futures, “both college and otherwise, will take on an even greater role in the back half of the season.”
Anything new on this season’s remaining SEAL Team episodes? –JC
If this Jason Dohring news Echolled your metaphorical Logan, I can report that his Lt. Cmdr. Alex Whitshaw will first appear in the April 21 episode.
Any word on a new season of Chesapeake Shores or When Hope Calls? –Sharon
You have since heard (and then some!) about Chesapeake Shores Season 5. As for spinoff When Hope Calls‘ possible renewal, there is no news at this time.
Any scoop on A Million Little Things? –Liz
We checked in on the whereabouts of Stephanie Szostak’s Delilah, who has been off-camera for about a half-dozen straight episodes, and showrunner DJ Nash said this: “Like many people who are caught between taking care of their kids and their older parents who now need them, Delilah now finds herself in this situation during the worst possible time. She needs to be in France to be near her father, who has dementia, but she also wants to be near her kids, who as we’ll see are going through so much. How this plays out, we will leave it for the fans to see.” Bonus scoop: There’s an interesting twist this Wednesday (new time slot alert!), and not of the medical sort, when Jamie joins Maggie for her latest doctor visit….
I am loving The Resident this season! Any scoop on when we might see baby girl Hawkins Nevin? –Amanda
“Nic and Conrad’s baby girl is due at any minute, so get ready for that,” co-showrunner Peter Elkoff says ahead of the Fox drama’s spring premiere (on April 13). He also teases “big romance news, a secret wedding, and a major heartbreak moment coming up when the show returns; tissues will be required. As if that’s not enough—…” Actually, I’ll save Elkoff’s final reveal for a later column; it seems like a biggie.
I’m very excited that Miss Scarlet & the Duke is coming back for another season. Will there be more than six episodes (I hope)? –Tabitha
I can confirm that Season 2 of the Alibi/PBS Masterpiece crime drama, which goes into production this summer, will be another six episodes.
Will Callie Thorne return to Blue Bloods as Maggie the psychic? I really liked her vibes with Danny, and I would love to see her as his new love interest. –Doris
I have looked into mine own crystal ball, and although Callie Thorne is putting in an NCIS: New Orleans encore (during that CBS drama’s farewell season), Maggie is not due to pop back up on Blue Bloods this season.
I’m loving Debris (Mondays on NBC), though it seems like neither team is on the same page about information. Will Finola and Bryan come to a realization that they should come together and share info they receive? –Roy
I relayed your inquiry to showrunner J.H. Wyman, and he wrote back, “Hi Roy! First of all, thank you so much for watching Debris; it is very much appreciated. The answer to your question is ‘very soon,’ in a ‘very unexpected way.’ Let’s just say… ‘The truth WILL be out there.’ All the best! JHW.”
Any Roswell, New Mexico Season 3 info yet? –M
We still know very little about the CW drama’s upcoming third season (including when it will even premiere), but we can confirm that someone will receive an earth-shattering message from an ethereal, yet somehow battle-hardened woman named Emilia who has traveled a great distance to relay this important information.
I really enjoyed the first two seasons of Songland. It’s interesting to be able to see the behind-the-scenes process of putting a song together. Is there any chance of a Season 3? –Lisa
I asked around, and no decision has yet been made on the NBC series, which aired its second season in Spring 2020.
Will it be difficult for Chicago P.D.‘s Burgess to deal with the job and the responsibility she has with Makayla now? –Ana
We ran your Q by Patrick John Flueger, who of course plays Burgess’ special someone Ruzek, and he is of the mind that “if anybody can do it, Burgess can. She’s the ‘A’ student. Everything she does, she gives 120 percent.”
Any updates on the animated X-Files: Albuquerque? Is it still in the works at Fox? –Justin
It is!

Everybody I have talked to really, really wants Songland to return! Also, is Manifest setting up an “end of series” run with the latest developments?
ITA!
What is ITA? I wish people wouldn’t assume everyone knows all the texting slang. When one is limited by space (i.e., Twitter), I might understand but are you so lazy that you cannot spell out three words (I assume it’s three words)?
ITA means I totally agree. You can google these. You will get an answer most of the time.
Gee, it would have taken SO LONG to actually write out “I totally agree.” I know I can google them but why should I have to do that?
Yes for Songland!!!
The other day, I heard not one, but TWO, of the song from the show when I was out and about. That’s pretty great. And it’s nice that it features all kinds of music and you get to meet the bands (a bit).
It seems to me they’ve been hinting at Danny and Baez on Blue Bloods, so I don’t think anyone should expect other love interests for him. (Though, if I’m being honest, Since we’ve already done that with Jamie and Eddie, it comes off as a bit redundant.)
I really hope they don’t become a couple. Of all Danny’s partners, she’s the one I like the least.
I totally agree. They are really trying to jam them down our throat this year, but there’s just no chemistry! Now if it was Jackie, his first partner, that would have been terrific. I still miss her.
And I cannot even remember that first one. Now, this partner is super fantastic and the reason I watch the show. However, I’m for keeping them as partners only because they are a working team.
Jackie wasnt the first one…Danny is on his 7th partner.
I guess the most fun in the show is sitting by the husband while he watches, thrilled. There were that many? Interesting what I was paying attention to … haha.
I really enjoyed Songland. And when the songwriters performed their written music the performances were good. I like seeing the concept on how a song n gist of it is put together. Hoping for another season.
Even if Delilah is caught between taking care of her kids and her father, this doesn’t explain why she’s been off-screen for a half-dozen episodes. I mean, what’s the point of touting Delilah’s storyline when the storyline is happening totally off-screen? It’s also weird that Eddie and Katherine have had zero reaction to the fact that Eddie’s daughter is stuck in Europe with Delilah during a global pandemic! Maybe “A Million Little Things” is actually a sci-fi show, and an angry ghost-Jon is slowly erasing Delilah from the framework of the universe. ;)
This is bothering me too. We followed Maggie to her European storyline. Why aren’t we following Delilah? Is there an issue with the actress?
Good points!
As much as I’ve liked Jon’s portrayal of Lex Luthor, I’m a bit disappointed that his story isn’t wrapped. I wanted the final season to be about Kara Danvers and Supergirl, not about any of the Luthors. I’m tired of the whole family.
I agree. I like Jon Cryer and Katie McGrath but the Luthors have gotten a lot of attention the past couple of seasons.
I would love to see Callie Thorne return as Danny’s next murder case victim.
Good questions this week! I’m loving Debris, too. It has that Fringe vibe, but more emotional. I am a huge fan of Songland – we want more! And I saved watching the season finale of Roswell NM so I can watch it just before the next season opener.
Wow, I thought the Chicago Fire twist was spectacular but so far it has been a complete disappointment. What a shame because I loved that series.
I hope Matt and Sylvia get back together romantically they were made for each other, I hope that Kim and Kevin get together romantically and Kim and Adam not get back together romantically again ever. I hope that Ethan and April get back together romantically again as well.
I really like Debris but to me it seems each episode is isolated ( almost like stand alone Twilight Zone episodes) . I hope they will build on each other and develop an overall plot.
They’re really not isolated at all. Don’t get distracted by the debris abilities.
THERE A LOT OF SHOWS I watch and really enjoy but Chicago PD and Blue Bloods that are 1 & 2 or 2 & 1 so I will not bore the readers with my list, some of which were mention and not. But I am dumbfounded on how the ‘suits’ and can simply kill a show. I wonder too, do they even watch??
Now my bitch. Grays Anatomy is so DEAD to me.
I have been with it since day 1.
I just can not get thru an hour now and I delete. I also removed the series. It just died for me on its return. Now the ‘suits’ really need to their job and take off the life support and if I were there, I would jerk it out myself!!!!! NOT WAITING FOR THE SERIES ENDING.
Tell us how you really feel. LOL
YOU could not handle the truth.. oh wait, wrong movie.
Would love to know the big spoiler for The Resident!! Can you give us a hint?
My theory is Nic dies in childbirth :'(
Ugh, no. I was hoping for LESS Lex after this arc, not more! It’s the final season for Supergirl, I was hoping for more focus on the lead character and less of the Lex Luthor show that it seems to have devolved into.
Hope the shows mentioned above come back we had many canceled shows in the past
Totally anxious about The Resident now. I swear, I will flip an entire desk if the “secret wedding” is Devon and Nadine; I’m hoping SO HARD that her baby isn’t his (I mean, the math doesn’t work, right?), so she can leave and we can be done with her storyline. I don’t have anything against her as a character, she’s likable, but her presence in Atlanta is the one truly unrealistic thing the show’s ever done, and it stands out in kind of a shark-jumping way. I REALLY need that wedding to be literally anybody else.
Ugh I hope they aren’t the secret wedding.
Maybe the secret wedding will be Devon and his former love the medical saleslady (Jenna Dewan).
Probably AJ and Mina for her visa
I’m guessing the heartbreak on the Resident is the baby Jake is going to adopt isn’t going to make it- since all signs seem to point in the promo and promo pics that baby is the one they’re adopting.
Hope the romance is Kit and Bell, hate they aren’t together yet!
Not sure about the secret wedding, Jessica and Irivings wedding doesn’t seem to be a secret lol.
I don’t know about anyone else. But I find chicago fire really boaring. I seem to FF threw the show. If casie leaves it might be a good thing. The show has kinda ran it’s course for a wolf production. Iam. Hoping for a major shake up on the show. A new bloodline
Regarding Debris, the showrunners really need to step up the chemistry between the leads. Right now I’m not feeling it, like I have out of the gate on other shows (most recent would be Evil). The show has promise, but if they can’t get the chemistry right between Finola and Bryan, it’s not going to make it.
For God sake, Lex Luthor’s omnipresence in the second part of season 5 (with William Dey’s blandness and Kara/Lena’s feud) was one of the major problems of the said season and instead of correcting what went wrong, showrunners iron the same dishes (meaning Lex and William)for the final season!
They are nuts or what!
On Roswell I hope the “battle-hardened woman named Emilia” will be played by Shiri Applebee.
