  1. The big building is Montgomery Ward’s. The sign letters are on the far side of the top of the building, looking from the back. I remember going there every fall to get new winter coats!

  2. Chapman School is that building all by itself on the right. The line of houses to the right of Chapman is NW Pettygrove St. Raleigh St borders the left side. A block over is Savier St. If you follow that about halfway to the river, you can see the cupola of St Patrick’s Church at 19th and Savier. The Lovejoy Ramp and the Meier and Frank warehouse are to the right of that. That’s where I-405 now comes up out of the ground.
