Hello, my name is Jacqueline, and I'm a very dissatisfied FD Community customer at this time. Your customer service is very unprofessional. I called numerous times and received no answer; the service is very disheartening. I've been a loyal customer for a long time, but trying to call and contact this bank is very stressful and unprofessional. Also, I came in today for a new debit card, and when going to activate it, the card number was invalid. Something better has to happen with your service, as well as with your customer service. I remained on hold today for over an hour and received no answer.

I've been a customer and multiple account holder with this bank for over 20 years. They USED to be exceptional with their service. I don't know what is going on with them recently, but within the last year they have become TERRIBLE. They NEVER answer their one phone number when you try to call. If you leave a message, no one calls you back. I called to inquire about a debit card I was expecting to get in the mail, and without even asking, they cancelled the card before I had even looked for it thoroughly and then told me they couldn't un-cancel it. They also promised me a call back from someone who was going to try to fix the situatation, and again no call back from anyone, ever. Now, they did something weird with their online banking, and all of the names I had assigned to differentiate my accounts are gone, and I have 8 different accounts. Not only that, but suddenly all of the money in my kids' custodial accounts is GONE and the history online doesn't even show the account as ever having money in it to begin with. Every time I try to call to speak to someone about it, no one answers. It just rings and rings and rings. I work full time and will now have to use my PTO to make a physical trip to the bank to find out where the heck my kids' money went, and why all my accounts got wiped. This is completely unacceptable and I'm just DONE with dealing with this kind of nonsense. It's so disappointing because I used to recommend this bank to everyone I talked to. Now I'm going to be shopping around for a new one.
Unless you want to have to pay your bills at the bank personally, you are okay. Impossible to pay online. They are ALWAYS experiencing temporary technical difficulties.
My late husband belonged to this credit union and after we obtained our marriage license, I opened a basic checking account through my husband's affiliation and connection with FD Community. The Vice President of the credit union opened my account and she was very warm and welcoming. A year after this, my husband passed away from a vehicle accident and I applied for a personal loan with this credit union and was denied despite my having close to perfect credit and no debt. They gave no reason as to why my loan application was denied, but I was able to successfully apply for a loan elsewhere and am currently making my monthly payments. What I felt from this credit union and a few of the employees and representatives who work there was a basic indifference to their clients. I accepted the fact that my loan application was denied; despite being a member with no outstanding debt, though it seemed odd to me, however, I had no problems applying for a loan elsewhere so I put it behind me. Now, fast forward to 8 months later...FD Community contacted me and told me (a year after my husband's death) that my husband owed them a little over 7 grand in auto loans. I had my attorney speak with them since it was settled some time ago that due to my husband's passing, they would not be pursuing this. A rep told my attorney that this person who represented the credit union had no authority to dismiss this debt and that it must be paid. My attorney clearly outlined to this rep that the money would be taken directly out of my husband's three children's funds to pay for it. FD Community gave no apology or explanation and showed again, a lack of compassion for the deceased and the deceased family. This really has little to do with paying the debt, but we are upset about the way FD community has handled customers. I would personally never include them in my finances again and would urge others to be wary of their services. Their lack of compassion and general respect is poor form.

FD Community was a great choice for me to choose. First of all, the customer service they offer is so fast and understanding. Anytime I had a problem they would help right away and I always solved my problems. Even though I didn't have many issues, they were still ready to go. Another thing like about this credit union is how money is never disclosed to me. Which means I was always able to take money out when I needed it. The only negative thing I wish they would change is the application process. It took longer than I thought it would and I didn't want to wait that long but it was worth it! I would def. tell other people about this as I'm happy!
I have been a member of the FD Community Federal Credit Union for three years, and they have by far given me the best experience. The service has always been excellent, and tellers make sure to make it clear they are there to answer any questions. I have only had to wait in line one or two times in three years, which is outstanding. I have a checking account with them and I don’t have to worry about all these crazy fees that some places will surprise you with. They are very clear with their policies. Also I have not experienced any technical issues with my account or funds so far. Overall I can say my experience with them is well above satisfactory and I will continue to use their services.
My wife and I have been proud members of the FD Community Federal Credit Union for more than ten years, and she and I do practically all of our financial-related business with them. We went to FD Community Federal Credit Union when we decided it was time to stop renting and have a house of our own. The agent with which we dealt was friendly, patient, understanding, and very willing to go over things more than once with newbies like us, and while people were losing their houses left and right when the market collapsed a few years ago, I knew that we were safe because we were dealing with an organization which takes pride in ethics and pleasing their loyal customers. A+.
I was looking for a checking account without a bunch of hidden fees. I did some searching on the Internet, and I found the FD Community Federal Credit Union. They were a good choice to go with because they don't have a high overdraft fee. Most of the other banks will charge an arm and a leg for going over your limit, but not FD Community. I got the respect I deserved when I walked in to speak with a bank teller. They answered all my questions, and they gave me a number and email to reach them if I had any problems. The disclosure was a bit difficult to understand, but I'm still getting the hang of it now.
I had to open a checking account so that my son could have a bank account in order to deposit money into it while he was in college. This worked out perfectly because I could just transfer from my bank account to his online so I could send him money from afar when he needed it. He has never had any problems when getting money out or making the checks to pay the bills. I opened a joint checking account so it made it easy for both of us to keep track of what was going on in the account. I am glad I decided on FD Community Federal Credit Union for my son’s bank.
Waterbury Firefighters Federal Credit Union basically provided me with a flawless experience. My only slight hassle with them came when I went through the application process. I felt the application process went a bit slower than usual. However, aside from that, everything else was perfect. I never had any issues with my account. In addition, the customer service they offer is impeccable. They are very helpful and they manage to help you in a timely manner. I never experienced long delays when reaching their customer service whether it was in person or by phone. I also enjoyed the fact that my funds never became unavailable. I've had bad experiences before in which my funds became temporarily unavailable for an hour or two due to some sort of maintenance procedure. However, this never happened with them. I would certainly recommend Waterbury Firefighters Credit Union.
