“Scotty”
Scotty is a 1974 Triumph Spitfire 1500 with quite a few modifications. The major one is a Holley Sniper EFI 2300 and exhaust. Scotty was named after my Uncle Scott who passed away before I was born, but had bright red hair and from what I have been told about him, this little car just reminded me of Scott. My grandmother cried when she heard and though it was so fitting. I plan to do a couple of things to the triumph and due to some recent changes in thought processes, I had decided that this triumph will be getting an internal and external make-over. I will be replacing all of the badges and putting them back on the body including the hood trim and fender trim, removing all of the extra stuff that was stuck on it, putting on a set of wire wheels and white walls, removing all the black paint used to cover up chrome, replacing the side mirrors with bullet style mirrors, and doing the interior in wilton wool tan carpet, and the seats (which came out of a GT6) in tan leather. I will be trimming everything in leather, wool, or wood. The dashboard will be fiddle back maple with the spitfire chrome script badge from the earlier spitfires and an inlay of a RAF spitfire on the passenger side. The crash pad on top will be made of claro walnut, with the vents being made out of billet aluminium. I also plan on redoing the heater controls out of billet aluminium and moved down to where the radio usually is. I hate when I go into first or third always hitting the radio. Switches on the dash will be billet aluminium and the gauges will be changed to where there are only two triple gauges, freeing up the center of the dash for a small navigation screen, as I drive all over the country frequently. I will also be making a glovebox door, as I already found out it is real easy to loose your registration papers when the top is down. From the engine bay, I will be painting the Union Jack on the inside of the bonnet, replacing the wiring harness, cleaning up the bay and adding as much chrome as I can. (I like shiny) I'm sure there are other things but that is the main.
