I think it's the 3M adhesive I love the most. Had already installed a set on my Frontier - about 2 in wide so I knew these would be as simple to install. And that was over 3 yrs ago, and they haven't moved, budged, gapped, curled, anything. I don't think they'd come off if a trained smashed into it. Anyway, A very nice feature was the instructions. They gave you simple and exact references to use and measure when making your line. The steps were clear and concise. The plastic is very tough and the color match was perfect.
Some asides...
....Be sure metal is perfectly clean before applying. Wash first, then clean with rubbing alcohol. The little wipie they give you won't cut it.
....Also, they included a stick of some pretreatment but this ran out before I got the first side done. They didn't provide any with the truck so I'm just taking my chances for not doing the other side. So far it still feels like it's welded on there. I'll update if any probs.
...instead of a tape line, I used padding and boards clamped from fender to fender to form the lower edge. That gave me a platform, a "shelf" to lay out the strip and keep it straight and line before flipping up on the panel. It worked great.
....BEWARE - the 3M adhesive is terribly strong one shot only or your in trouble quick. When i was bringing it up to my line, I let the very end, about 1 inch, just barely touch the panel. It was like 5 paralyzing minutes to get that off with just even pulling and not letting any more touch the car. Be careful!
