I would say these definitely work. I'm constantly guilty of opening the fridge with wet hands from washing dishes, wiping off the counters. And I would constantly leave a wet looking mess on my fridge and other appliances. So far, these work really well. I would say that they fit great on my Maytag fridge, but they do not fit so well on the newer LG appliances. Those appliances have more of a squared handle and the wraps barely fit all the way around which means when you grip it, you are actually gripping the scratchy velcro parts. But of course you don't see that, you just feel it. As you can see, there is already a spot on my dishwasher handle cover and I am interested to see how they handle going through the laundry. Maybe I will give an update.
UPDATE: After washing one time, the felt had been to storage from the backing, which means it will have to be thrown away. Maybe hand washing and lying flat to dry is a good Upton, but that's more work than I want to go through.
