The Colorado is the most compelling midsize pickup on the market because it actually looks like a truck and performs like one too.
Everything is new for the Colorado as the 2023 model ushers in the third generation. The most obvious change is the new aesthetic, which mirrors Chevrolet’s full-size trucks and really sets the Colorado apart in the segment. But there are new powertrains as well, and Chevrolet has increased the max towing beyond anything else in the class.
All Colorado models available through Ancira Winton Chevrolet are powered by a turbocharged 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine. However, this engine is offered in different output configurations based on the trim level. The WT and LT trim levels have an engine that makes 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet and which can tow up to 3,500 pounds. That is far better than most trucks in the class, including the Toyota Tacoma. But if you want more performance, you can opt for the Z71 or Trail Boss. That engine makes 310 hp and 390 lb.-ft. and can tow up to a best-in-class 7,700 pounds.
All Colorado models now have the new 11.3-inch touch screen along with the latest version of Chevrolet’s infotainment software. That includes wireless Android and Apple integration and Google Built-In. Most of the advanced driver-assistance technologies are included standard, such as automatic emergency braking and lane departure intervention. Options include adaptive cruise control and upgrading the standard rearview camera to a 360-degree surround-view camera.
Rear-wheel drive is standard with the WT and LT trim levels. Four-wheel drive is optional with those trim levels and standard with the Trail Boss and up. A beefier alternator is optional. Automatic stop/start is standard. An automatic locking rear differential is available with the lower trim levels and included with the upper ones, which also have a two-speed transfer case. Push-button ignition, remote keyless entry and remote start are standard across the board.
The WT is the most affordable 2023 Chevrolet Colorado and rather impressive when compared to other base models in the segment. The Trail Boss is perhaps the most popular trim level as it includes all of the amenities and technologies consumers want in addition to the performance and mechanical upgrades. The Z71 and ZR2 are aimed at drivers who’ll use their Colorado for off-road purposes.
There are eight exterior colors available for the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado in San Antonio. Five of those options are standard colors, which means that the cost is included in the MSRP, and three are premium colors, which means that you have to pay an additional albeit small cost. The standard colors are Black, Harvest Bronze Metallic, Sand Dune Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic and Summit White. The premium options are Glacier Blue Metallic, Nitro Yellow Metallic and Radiant Red Tintcoat.
