I really thought I was going to miss my Q7. That lasted 5 minutes after I drove away in the S8. This car is 3 cars in one: Corporate Cruiser, Baby Hauler & a Supercar! This thing is so fast! If you have the means to upgrade do it! You won't regret it for a second! I only made a few mods: Tail lights tinted, Windows tinted, V8-T Side Badges replaced with S8 badges and that's it.

Very cool! It is such a bad *** ride. What color is that? Phantom black or a special color? I like deleting the V8 badging from the front fenders. I might even debadge altogether leaving just the S8 in the grill and the calipers to do the talking, but your way is a cool alternative I had not considered. You probably already wrestled with blacking out the window chrome.....not sure how I stand on that; then you would kind of open up the Pandora's box of blacking out. Ironically, the chrome trim works better on the S8 than the A8 due to the silver mirror.

Thanks for the comments. The color is Phantom Black Pearl Effect. I don't want to hide the fact that this is an S8. The V8-T badges reminded me of everything else out there bragging about what is under their hoods. Seriously, the next time you are out driving around look at the cars around you, they all have badging telling you what the power-plant is. As far as blacking out the chrome, I actually like the chrome. It keeps the car in the realm of the "corporate cruiser" so I can take my clients to lunch without driving around in something too modified. The chrome to me allows me to "hide in plain sight". Most cops have no idea at a glance what this car is. It you black it out and you will stand out...and that is not what I am going for. This car is in a class all by itself.

The funny thing I have noticed so far is the level of respect I am getting by just pulling up to a light next to a tuner car or a muscle car and they waive me on or give the thumbs up. The race has been won without ever starting. Never saw that one coming. When I had my V10 M5 or NSX I was always being challenged. It appears that more people know about the S8 and what it will do to their car if provoked.

We discussed this in another thread, but I'd be curious to know what you paid (if you are willing to divulge) for your window tinting and what kind of tint they used.

I've been thinking of having my windows tinted and putting one of those clear bras on the front when I get my 2014.

Very, very, very NICE. Congrats! I like the S6 badge on the side. I almost popped for the S8 and at times now wished I more was patient and waited for availability with my preferences. Let us know about your future experiences.

Thanks for the compliments on the tinted lights. You guys can do it too. You will want to use lamin-x tint that is perfectly cut and made for your Audi taillights. You lose ZERO light when you turn on your taillights or hit the brakes!

In one of the road tests that I read the author said "the sedan to have when you want to take the whole family drag racing". That just about sums it up! This car is a real sleeper and that's one of the things I really like about it especially since it will be my daily work driver--not too fancy to cause issues with my employees or clients like some cars I've had in the past. Can't wait for mine to come in--supposed to take delivery the week of 7/22/13.
