I (accidentally) won this '07 RS4 on Cars and Bids. https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3ox...audi-rs4-sedan I'm into it for $25,007, plus $1,125.32 C&B buyer's fee, so $26,132.32 total. (Not including the plane ticket or 850 miles of 93 octane. LOL) I already have six cars (including two B8s) and only a two-car garage at home (non-home-garaged vehicles live in a nearby warehouse) so I really can't justify keeping the RS4. I figured I'd enjoy the RS4 for a few months, do some maintenance to it, and then list it for sale in the Spring. But then I figured I might as well put it up now in case there's anyone who would prefer to get the car as-is and do their own work to it. To clarify, if someone is willing to pay me what I have in the RS4 before I dig into it, I'd be fine selling it for $26,132.32. But after I start doing any significant maintenance to it, my asking price will go up.
The car is in excellent condition. There are maybe a few tiny rock chips on the front end, and one small swirl spot on the hood. No apparent dings or scratches anywhere else on the body. Two of the wheels do have a relatively small amount of curb rash. The interior looks great. No noticeable wear, rips, tears, etc. The underside and wheel wells appear to be dry--no apparent leaks, including the DRC. I haven't pulled the engine cover yet, but I don't expect to find anything wet there either.
Worth mentioning, this RS4 has only had two owners. The first, up to ~45K miles, and then the second, who I purchased it from at 106K. I have the title but haven't yet transferred it into my name, so if the car sells within a couple months, the next owner will be the third. (If I have it for more than a few months, I'll probably have to bite the bullet on transferring the title.)
So far all I've done to the RS4 is:
--Claybar and ceramic-wax-spray the body and wheels
--Upgraded firmware for RNS-E that supports 32GB SD cards https://rnse.pcbbc.co.uk/
Things I'm planning to do to the RS4 over the next few months, unless someone wants to buy it as-is in the meantime:
--Carbon cleaning (car runs great, butt-dyno says it's making "correct" power, but PO says he never did a CC in 60K miles of ownership so it must need it)
--Deflap (to avoid the dreaded flap or screw coming loose and ending up in the engine)
--PCV, oil filter housing gasket
--Oil change with Mobil1 5W40 European car (PO changed the oil shortly before I picked up the car but I always like to do my own oil change)
--Brake fluid flush with Prestone DOT4
--Replace front brake pads with Dynamic Friction Active Performance https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=1684&jsn=1381 (The PO replaced the pads and rotors in the not-too-distant past. I don't know what pads were used, but they are DUSTY. The DFAP compound is my go-to for pads that have good stopping power but are pretty low dust. I like the Raybestos Element 3 compound for nearly-no-dust applications, but their stopping power isn't as good as the DFAP. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=1684&jsn=1371)
--I may also do an ECS H-pipe as an easily-reversible, relatively-inexpensive way to add some more noise to the exhaust. Probably just throwing away $400 that I won't get back when selling, but if I'm gonna drive the RS4 around for a few months, I'd like a little more bark.
I've seen people proactively replace fuel injectors, but I'm hesitant to do that on a perfect-running car. I'll add Seafoam to several tanks of gas and leave it at that for now.
Pics forthcoming shortly.
