The fully restored Amphicar is still in use today, 36 years after it sunk in 52 feet of water in Stockbridge Bowl.

A summer resident of Lenox and friends accidentally tipped over the floating Amphicar on Stockbridge Bowl and swam to safety while it sank in 52 feet of water in 1987. It was raised in 2003 and restored, and still running.
