1948 Oldsmobile Dynamic 78 Club Sedan

Josefin
Trelleborg

Basic information and history

The Oldsmobile Series 70 started its manufacturing in 1939 and continued until 1950. The Series 70 was designed by Harley Earl who, among other things, started "Project Opel" which later became the Chevrolet Corvette. He was also the one who put fins as a design element on vehicles. The Series 70 was replaced by the Oldsmobile 88 in 1950 after three generations of the model. The model was available in a total of eight different body designs.

This 1948 Oldsmobile Dynamic 78 in Club Sedan trim comes in nicely restored condition with modern touches including an LS1 V8 from the Corvette, power lifted windows, A/C, brake discs all around and more. The car was imported in 2006 and has had 4 users. The mileage cannot be determined, but the condition indicates that the car has been taken care of.

Condition

The exterior of the car is perceived to be in good condition. There is no damage noted on the body and it is described as rust free. The body has been rebuilt in a stylish custom look. Chrome and moldings are in good condition with just a note on the bumper. Headlights and glass details are also in good condition. There is a surface on the attachment to the gangster cap that has lost some paint. Feel free to look through photos of the car to get an idea of the condition. The wheels on the rims from Coys come with approx. 6mm remaining pattern depth.

The interior of the car is in a nice condition and with a fantastic red and blue colour combination. Materials on the seating surfaces and in the doors are completely unremarkable. Steering wheel, buttons and controls as well. Interior roof is nice and sits in place. More modern speakers on the hat shelf are installed. There is some rubbing in the door housing from one door. In the luggage, everything is clean and tidy and a fire extinguisher is installed. The fuel gauge jumps sometimes so there is play.

In the engine compartment it looks nice and clean. No leaks have been noted and the drivetrain and engine are described as being in good condition. Brakes are also described as being in good condition. Previous service records are not available, but the thoroughly renovated condition speaks for a well-cared-for car.
