The base engine comes standard with front-wheel drive and can be optionally mated to all-wheel drive. An AWD setup takes the XTS to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds, which is somewhat below the class average. The turbo engine sends power to all four wheels and accelerates the vehicle to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. The 2018 XTS comes standard with a six-speed automatic gearbox and adaptive suspension that keeps the occupants undisturbed when the car is going over bumps and potholes.
