Volkswagen - Beetle Type 1 Sedan De Luxe Zwitter - 1953

1953 Volkswagen Beetle Type 1 Sedan De Luxe Zwitter in very good condition. This is one of the rarest models appreciated by collectors, as it was only manufactured for five months, from 1st October 1952 to 10th March 1953. The ‘Zwitter’ (short for German Zwitter Käfer, or hybrid Beetle) was manufactured with a split rear window, with some exclusive parts (such as the chrome window edge) and with the dashboard that later versions would have. They also changed the interior lights, the start button, headlights, taillights and the air filter. This Zwitter was manufactured on 9th March 1953, among the last Zwitters manufactured. Very good overall condition, with certificate of originality from the VW Museum (see photos). Rare option of original vinyl upholstery and gear lever lock. Most of the windows are original Sekurit. The car was originally sold in Colombia, where it was purchased by the seller from its third owner. The current owner brought it with him when he returned to Spain. The car is currently registered in Spain and has a valid ITV (Spanish vehicle inspection). Of course, all import/registration fees have already been paid. With sporadic use, the car is in a very good overall condition, even the trafficators work. The car still has its original 6-volt electrical system. Everything has been checked recently and works smoothly. The odometer reads about 16,000 km. Obviously, it must have at least started over once. The car has no heating and I do not know whether it originally had it, as Colombia is a tropical country, or if it was removed later. The seller can assist the buyer in shipping the vehicle, although transport costs will be borne by the buyer. It is located in Madrid, Spain.
