Fans had been clamoring all season to see who would emerge victorious between Gonzaga and Baylor. They were supposed to get it on Dec. 5, but COVID protocols put a halt to the scheduled meeting just hours prior to tip. Monday night, however, the long-awaited showdown is underway as the Bears took a 47-37 lead over the Bulldogs into the half of the NCAA Tournament championship game in Indianapolis.

All things considered, the undefeated Zags should consider themselves lucky they only find themselves down 10 points. Baylor led by 19 at one point, but Gonzaga, facing its largest deficit of the season, was able to surge near the end of the second half and maybe gain some momentum for the second half.

It's been two years since a national champion has been crowned in major college basketball. Monday night in Indianapolis, we will witness the coronation as one of these two teams will emerge unscathed from the original field of 68.
