1962 Volkswagen Beetle Type 113 2dr Sedan Ruby Red (L456) Fully Restored

No single car model, with the exception of the Ford's Model T, has played such a major role in the changing of automotive history, as the Volkswagen Beetle, also know as the "Bug". More than any other make, this German built Volkswagen paved the way for the import invasion of the 1950's to the 1960's, which has affected the types of cars turned out by Detroit for years and until this day. Without question the "people's car", which is the direct translation of Volkswagen, had the same impact in Germany and throughout Europe as it did when it arrived on America's Shores. Late in 1930 the formation of a new company, Dr.-ing.h.c Ferdinand Porsche Gmbh, which employed air cooled engine expert, Joseph Kales, saw the creation of small cars a challenge. Early on this is evident in one of the firm's first projects, known as Project 12, which eventually evolved into this amazingly iconic vehicle, the Beetle. Volkswagen's desire to continuously improve was also evident in the progress of their air cooled engines, which started out early on as a 1200cc engine and gradually progressed to a 1600cc engine.

Engine:

Runs and drives superbly, has plenty of horsepower that is constant throughout acceleration and has not major oil and fluid leakage evident.

Transmission/ Clutch:

4 speed Volkswagen manual transmission that shifts with ease and readiness. There is no major oil or fluid leakage evident.

Drivetrain/ Axels:

Stock equipment that is in excellent working condition and that operates as intended. Axels, Axel boots and rear drive system are in perfect condition and there is no major oil or fluid leakage evident.

Brake System:

Braking is responsive and accurate. All 4 drums are in excellent condition. Brake Lines are new, solid and free from rusting and/or fluid leakage.

Exhaust System:

Exhaust system and mufflers are like new with no major rusting, leaking and/ or rattling throughout.

Fuel System:

Clean, new and rust free. Fuel pump is in proper working order.

Air Cooling System:

Equipped air cool system is like new and in excellent working order. Vehicle runs at proper temperature.

Electrical Components:

All electrical components are in proper working order including but not limited to; headlights, tail lights, brake lights, front and rear blinker lights, license plate light, dash light, electrical engine components, battery and horn. Electrical System upgraded from 6 volts to 12 volts.

Gauges:

Speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge all work in proper order. Gauges are in excellent condition with no wear.

Suspension/ Shocks:

The vehicles ride is smooth, comfortable and roadworthy. No leakage of fluid and components are in like new condition.

Steering/ Steering Wheel:

Vehicle has tight and responsive steering. Steering wheel, steering column and blinker levers are in excellent condition.

Tires/ Rims:

Vehicle is equipped with (4) tires, rims and hub caps that are in new condition. The chrome hub caps and trim are perfect and the rims are free from scratching, pitting and curbing.

Body/ Undercarriage:

The body and undercarriage of this vehicle are excellent throughout and clean. There is no evidence of accidents, major rusting, and/or major repairs made throughout the body, under-carriage, floorpans and trunk.

Paint:

The vehicle's Ruby Red (paint code L456) from restoration is excellent. There are no chips, scratches and cracking evident throughout the paint except for a small minor scratch on the front hood barely noticeable and a couple small minor chips touched up with touch up paint.

Interior:

The Red Basket Weave interior of the vehicle is in excellent condition with no rips or tears throughout.

Chrome Trim.

The chrome trim is in excellent condition with no dents, dings, scratches, pitting or corrosion throughout.

Glass/Mirrors/WeatherStripping:

Vehicle is equipped with original Delodur VW glass that is in superb condition, free from scratches, chips and cracking. The rear view mirrors are also free from scratches, chips and cracking. There is new black rubber trim and piping throughout the car and the weather stripping is in excellent condition throughout.

Radio:

Vehicle is equipped with the original VW AM radio that is in proper working order.

Spare Tire/ Jack Assemble:

Vehicle is equipped with a complete excellent condition original jack assembly and excellent condition spare tire and rim.

Title:

Vehicle has clean and clear Massachusetts title.
