The Rover P4 was presented at the London Motors Show in 1949, designed by Gordon Bashford and produced until 1964. It is characterized as a mid-size luxury sedan and has the nickname "Aunt Rover". It is distinguished by its aluminum doors and its rear suicide doors. Several evolutions with 6 and 4 cylinders engine kept coming. The P4 100 was presented on October the 24th, 1959, it was equipped with a new 6-cylinders straight engine of 2.6 derived from the P5’s 3.0 engine which is more torquey and melodious. It got a luxurious interior with leather upholstery as well as woodwork on the dashboard and around the windows. A typically British "Shepherds Crook" type curved handbrake is also present. The 100 was equipped as standard with heating, front disc brakes and overdrive. 16,521 cars were produced until 1962. With its characteristic look, the P4 is an integral part of the British culture, it was used by the royal family and Grace Kelly.

This car presented in our catalog was first on the road in 1960, on May the 5th, in the suburb of London. It has got 4 owners in England before being imported in France in 1976. The former owner got it from 1997 to 2017 when he sold it to its current owner. The car is today in its original right-hand drive configuration and has a two-tone brown and black paint. The body was refinished many years ago and is in average condition today. Marks of corrosion can be seen on the non-aluminum body parts and on the chassis. The interior is in a good state of preservation, the leathers are still the original ones and the upholstery has been tinted about 20 years ago. Mechanically, the car works perfectly, its engine, which is the original one, starts straight away and its overdrive works. The car comes with an important file telling its history as its user manual.

This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on June the 20th, 2021.
