From 1947 until 1955, Chevrolet trucks were number one in sales in the United States, and it is easy to see why.  With rugged bodies and powerplants designed to get the job done, these “Advance Design” trucks proved popular with American consumers in the post war era.

This gorgeous 1949 Chevy 3100 pickup is finished in Windsor Blue and features a solid oak bed.  Its newer finish is complemented by chrome and brightwork that has a nice luster.  Chrome hubcaps and running boards add to the look of this stock pickup truck.

The interior is also stock in appearance, and features a Maroon vinyl bench seat and a Gray dash board.  Its original gauges are in excellent condition and lend a note of distinction to the cab.  You will also appreciate its “three on the tree” manual transmission, which affords room for three passengers inside the truck.

Under the hood you will find a 216 CID inline 6 cylinder engine which is mated to a three speed manual transmission.  The truck’s electrical system has been converted to a 12 volt system, but the original 6 volt components will be included with sale.  Recent mechanical updates include the following:

• New alternator
• New battery
• New tires
• Rebuilt wheel cylinders

Best of all, this truck runs and drives as well as it looks.

A few items of note are that the driver quality paint and chrome have minor imperfections that do not detract from the overall appearance of the truck.  In addition, the heater motor and speedometer are not currently working, and there is a small oil leak.  There is also a small crack in the passenger’s side window that should be noted.
