What’s It About?
Cloe, Jade, Sasha, and Yasmin, aka the Bratz, star in the console game BRATZ FOREVER DIAMONDZ. While managing their successful magazine, the Bratz enter a fashion competition in hopes of being named the next hot young designers on the scene. Players join the Bratz as they visit three cities to check out the latest styles; along the way, the Bratz help their friends; design cards, posters, and shirts; and participate in fun challenges or missions. The game begins with a tutorial mode, where players learn the basics of the game and how to explore and accomplish various tasks.
Is It Any Good?
The game is open-ended, and players have a lot of time and space to explore the many activities and Mini games before moving on. Bratz Forever Diamondz provides a wide variety of activities for young players, including clothes designing, collecting missions, logical-thinking games, and arcade games. There are also lots and lots of things to buy in the stores to dress up the Bratz. In addition, players can do the Bratz' makeup and then see their handiwork on the Bratz character as she runs around town.
If parents can get past the commercialism and shallowness of the game, this is enjoyable entertainment for girls who will enjoy exploring this game's open-ended environment. However, a flaw in the game is that some of the design activities don't have much content; when creating posters, cards, and t-shirts, the game only has minimal options.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about why the Bratz seem obsessed with clothes and shopping. Do they think these things are that important? Is it fun to go shopping sometimes and buy new things? Is it OK for girls to not like clothes or shopping? Families might want to explore the business aspects of the fashion industry.
