It is summer in Beijing, so we need a convertibles to cruise through the traffic jams. Happily, here we have one: a very clean first generation Chrysler Sebring, painted in gold with a beige top.

The first generation Chrysler Sebring was made from 1995 until 2000, the convertible was launched in 1996. The convertible was a rather special car, as it wasn’t based on the Sebring coupe, but on the Chrysler Sirrus sedan.
Power came from a Mitsubishi-sourced 2.5 liter V6 engine with 161 hp and 221 Nm, mated to a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual.
Sadly, the interior was in a sorry shape. The dash looked like it could fall apart at any moment and the seats looked worn out. This old Sebring needs a lot of work to get it into cruising shape. Note the white dials; how sporty.
The exterior was in a much better shape than the interior, but it is possible that it was resprayed at some point.
The first generation Chrysler Sebring was not officially sold in China, but some examples arrived via the gray market or other misty channels.
This example was likely originally sold in the United States, and imported into China later in its life. The license plate area is too small for Chinese plates, so the owner fitted a special wider frame over the original area. These frames are widely available and very common on ex-U.S. cars.
