Default Orange 1973

Hey Guys,
Question for anyone with an original Orange '73.
I've come across a '73 project I'm considering buying. Now blue but original color was Code 980 Orange. Was this a metallic orange similar to Ontario Orange or was it an enamel looking color similar to Hugger Orange?
Cheers, Greg

1973 orange paint was called "Orange". The difference in color doesn't appear to be much; but I don't know about the type and amount of metallic and/or pearl in either.

7T1 is correct. It was just "Orange" in'73.

The funky colors of the 70's are now popular again.

I think if you hold on to baggy underwear it will eventually be a 'hot' item. Amazing how just a few years makes everything change...and some of it back to what it USED to be....

...1973 "980" Orange is the EXACT same color as 1974 "Corvette Orange" as GM called it and it's code was "80L". My '74 has it's original paint so it's what original or correct '73 & '74 Orange Corvettes looked like.

...it was one of the "Firemist" colors for 1974 and does have a very fine "gold dust" metallic in it.
