The 2021 Chrysler Voyager is America’s most affordable minivan, and it is here to blow all other minivans out of the water. For 2021, the Voyager has an MSRP starting at just $27,235, but its value is far from the budget basement. While designed to have the basic features to make any passenger and driver comfortable, it also has all of the extra features you need to haul your family from point A to point B in style. Chrysler has multiple minivans, but the Voyager has a unique style to differentiate it from the pack.

This affordable minivan is more than just your average larger commuter vehicle. • Options

The black interior is shown from the front seats on a 2021 Chrysler Voyager.

The 2021 Voyager features the patented Chrysler Uconnect 4 platform, which incorporates AM/FM radio bands, AUX and USB connectivity, integrated voice command via Bluetooth, and the ability to connect to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. LX models also have the option to connect to satellite radio. All 2021 Chrysler Voyager models have a 7-inch touchscreen with which to access the Uconnect 4 system, and the touchscreen works with standard pinch-and-zoom capability, just like your favorite smartphone.

With this generation of Uconnect, startup and processing speeds are faster than ever before, and the high-resolution graphic display is more vivid than ever before. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow you to connect with maps, messaging, phone calls, and your favorite music playlists. For even more entertainment, LX models have the opportunity to add an overhead DVD system. Both trims of the 2021 Chrysler Voyager come standard with six speakers and, on top of that, the brand’s specialty noise cancellation system. Chrysler Active Noise Cancellation (ACN) uses four microphones to monitor and then counteract engine and exhaust noise, so your drive is as quiet as possible, especially while idling.

Make Your Interior Work for You

Both the L and LX models come with premium cloth bucket seats, with your primary color choice being black or cognac brown. The L trim has dual-zone manual climate control, but you can choose to upgrade to three-zone temperature control, which comes standard on the LX. The driver’s seat on the L model is manual, while the LX’s is an eight-way, power adjustable seat. All 2021 Chrysler Voyagers come with heated side mirrors, and the LX has an optional Cold Weather Group package that includes heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel that is also heated, and a remote start system for the cold mornings when you need those heated perks. This package also adds in a security system.

    Seating, Storage, and Mobility

The 2021 Chrysler Voyager has seating for seven, with the two second-row captain’s seats providing easier access to the third row. The third row of seats can fold completely flat with Stow ‘n Go technology, which is infinitely easier than having to remove them when you need additional hauling space. For this model year, the Chrysler Voyager also has increased mobility features. It’s possible to adapt the side and rear doors to allow for a wider entryway and more interior space, as well as an enhanced ramp securement system to accommodate any size of wheelchair or scooter.

The maximum interior cargo volume on the 2021 Chrysler Voyager is 140.5 cubic feet, leaving you plenty of room to haul groceries and pack up for a road trip. If you need to carry even more, the LX model has some under-floor storage on the second row, as well as an available Stow ‘n Place roof rack. This brand of roof rack is built so that the crossbars can store inside the side rails for increased aerodynamics so that when you’re not using the roof rack, it doesn’t create drag and hurt your fuel efficiency.

    Add a Splash of Color

Both trims of the 2021 Chrysler Voyager come in six exterior colors: Brilliant Black, Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Velvet Red Pearl, Bright White, and, new for the 2021 model year, Ocean Blue Metallic. Unlike other makes and models, there is no upcharge for any of these paint colors. Door handles on the L trim are black, while those on the LX version match the body color. The lower grille is black, and so is the badging on the liftgate. The 2021 Chrysler Voyage also has 17-inch wheels and deep tint sunscreen glass.

  • Performance

The 2021 Voyager has Chrysler’s award-winning 3.6-liter V6 engine. It is the only engine in its class with a TorqueFlite nine-speed automatic transmission. This engine and transmission pair to produce 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Just to prove this isn’t your mom’s minivan, with that 287 horsepower, you can expect to go from 0 - 60 in just over five and a half seconds, and the 262 lb-ft of torque means that the V6 engine has a powerful pickup, which is good for merging and passing on highways.

    Capability

The EPA-estimated MPG for the 2021 Chrysler Voyager is 19 MPG city and 28 MPG highway for a combined MPG of 22, making it one of the most efficient minivans on the market, despite its best-in-class towing capabilities. The 2021 Chrysler Voyage can tow more than its competitors with a towing capacity of up to 3,600 pounds. With that available 3,600 pounds in towing, you can generally haul a couple of motorbikes, snowmobiles, or any of the popular smaller camping trailers currently for sale.

The Chrysler Voyager is noted for having a driver’s seat that sits nice and high above the crowd, and the shape of its front end allows for a wide range of vision through the windshield and side windows. With these features, you’ll be able to keep your eyes easily on the road and what other drivers are doing around you while transporting your precious cargo. Combined with Chrysler’s Active Noise Cancellation technology, the tinted sunscreen, the user-friendly Uconnect system, and the 3.6-liter V6 engine, you’ll find the Voyager an easy and fun drive that belies its affordability.

    Reliability in Addition to Capability

On top of that, the Chrysler Voyager won Kelley Blue Book’s Five-Year Cost to Own Award in 2020, its first year of eligibility. This award marks the Voyager as the minivan with the lowest projected ownership costs, based on criteria including predicted depreciation, expected fuel costs, insurance fees, and maintenance and repair costs. So, when you buy a 2021 Chrysler Voyager, you’ll get a minivan that’s not just good for your budget at purchase time, but on down the road, as well.

  • Safety

The Chrysler Voyager has earned the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) highest possible rating for safety. It received five-star ratings on front driver-side and passenger-side impact, as well as overall frontal impact, with four stars for the rollover rating. The Chrysler Voyager has also earned top marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

    Premium Construction for Premium Safety

The 2021 Chrysler Voyager gains these power ratings thanks in part to its use of steel shaping technologies, one of which is “hydroforming” - making everyday steel tubes even stronger by injecting them with fluid at high pressures. Also, the Chrysler Voyager door ring is made with tailor-welded blanks whose hot-stamped steel sections vary in thickness, which helps to maintain structural integrity in case of impact from certain angles. 72% of the Voyager body is made of high-strength steel, while advanced high-strength steel is used in the cradle and front rails, allowing crash energy to better move away from the main body in case of impact, protecting you and your passengers.

    Safety Features

The 2021 Chrysler Voyager comes standard with seven airbags, daytime running lights, electronic stability control, brake assist, lower child seat anchor system (LATCH), and a ParkView rear backup camera. There’s also an available SafetyTec Group package, which includes pedestrian automatic emergency braking (AEB), blind-spot and rear cross-path detection, and full-speed forward collision warning-plus. It also includes ParkSense rear park assist with stop, pedestrian emergency braking, and power front windows that can go up and down with just one touch.

SafetyTec Group equipped vehicles also have Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ Gen 5 radar/forward camera/braking system along with ParkSense rear park assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, and full-speed collision warning-plus. The SafetyTec Group package is available on both L and LX Voyagers, which is a big plus over other models, which primarily only offer extra safety features on the highest of trim levels.
