FAQs about Salik

1. Lost Salik username or password?
If login fails but you think you have the correct password, wait some time then try again. Salik locks you out of your account if you make a mistake entering your password. In our experience seems to be after only one or two failed attempts, and need to wait at least an hour or two.

If you don’t know your password you can reset it online but you need PIN number, account number, vehicle Salik tag number, and mobile phone number.

Account number is listed on RH side of page, also in Profile settings, after logging in to your Salik account online. PIN number is not available from your online account. It cannot be retrieved or reset online. Remember it or get it resent.

If you cannot log in to your account online, call Salik (toll free in UAE 800-SALIK (800-72545), or +971-4-2335000), go through the menu options to have them send PIN and a/c number to the mobile phone registered with them for your account.

3. How to find my Salik tag number?

7. How to purchase, activate a Salik tag?
You can purchase a Salik tag online and register the tag online. Remember that you will need the following before you register your Salik tag online.

  • Salik tag number – This is the number printed on the back of your Salik tag
  • Your mobile phone number – This number should be the one you listed on your Salik application form. It will be used for all Salik communication
  • T.C.No – This is found on your Vehicle Registration Card

Then, you need to fill-up a form online to register your tag.

8. How do I install the Salik tag in my car?
Remember that you only need one tag per vehicle. According to RTA, here are 4 basic steps to install your Salik:

Get the position right
You need to position your tag approximately 1 cm below your rear-view mirror. (If you have a vehicle with a metallic windscreen, look at the middle of your windscreen that is covered with dots or is lighter in colour than the rest of the windscreen. The best position for your tag is within this dotted or lighter area).

Clean your windshield
Clean and dry the inside of your windshield where you’ll be sticking your Salik tag.

Peel your Salik tag
Hold your tag by the edges and peel the transparent liner off the sticky tag.

Stick your Salik tag
Press one edge of the tag to the windshield and slowly work your way to the opposite edge, rubbing the tag’s surface to avoid trapping any air bubbles between the tag and your windshield.
